    Hi, I love the percussive sound at 2.37 and was wondering how to make it. Not the kick or the snare or the hihat but the other sound. Is it a particular percussive instrument ?

    You must fold yourself into a garbage can and roll down a hill. Record the rhythmic pattern.

    To my ears it is only a short wispering Vocal Loop "come check this" it is good set, so it sounds a bit percusive. May be working on the transients, to make it work.

    it's underneath the sample. it's a blip kind of percussive element. it sounds like it is auto-filtered to auto pan. it's very short though, maybe the length of 1 measure.

    It starts off as just one percussive thing at 2:21 with the kick drum, and then a second and third percussive layer starts playing 2:28 along with the kick snare and hihat which are separate from what i am talking about, there is a also a vocal saying cum/come check this and more sound effects. What is that one percussive thing at 2:21 ?, I feel like I have heard it in a swedish house mafia song (more than you know) but it sounds a bit different from a usual tambourine.

    Are you talking about the delay feedback (that has volume envelope/modulation on it)? It changes in pitch after 2:21.

    You mean the thing that sounds like two glasses rubbing together? Don't know what it is, but sounds like some bitcrushing is at play here.

    The sound panned to the left has been downsampled/bitcrushed and is heavily processed to the point that you can't say what the source is. I think that's what you mean with hi-hat?
    The other instrument sounds like a self oscillating filter with high resonance whose cutoff has been modulated by an envelope to turn down

    Edit: 2:21 is a good timestamp, now I'm more confident to say that it's some kind of shaker with resonant filter, and as I mentioned downsampling and/or bitcrushing and other effects.

    That's an interesting sound. It sounds like it's synthesized but I have no idea how. Noise, bit crushing, filtering - yes but I haven't been able to reproduce it yet.

    Apologies for the confusion.

    @Baxter: The delay feedback sound that has volume/modulation on it wasn't really what I was talking about but I just really liked how it all sounded together when everything kicks in at 2.28 and that definitely adds to it but that's not the sound I was interested in making.

    @MK 96.
    Yes, the two glasses rubbing together is a nice sound at 2:21 that I would like to know how to make. That's a good description of it. I think that is half of the overall sound that I wanted. That said after listening to it in headphones at 2.21 , there is the two glasses in my left headphone and then a different percussive sound coming up the middle which sounds really cool together and the pattern of this bit coming up the middle is , Kick(on first beat) Buh Buhhpa Buh, Kick(on third beat) Buh Buhhpa Buh. This pattern is the same as the pattern of the percussive sound at 2.37 which was the percussive sound that stood out to me on first listen as being really cool. At 2.21 you can barely hear it and it is coming up the middle but at 2.37 it is in both headphones and much louder but it also sounds different.

    At 2:28, you have the classic disco beat coming in kick, closed hihat, snare. kick closed hihat snare. Not talking about any of those.

    At 2:28 , its like the original two sounds(Two Glasses rubbing together plus other percussive sound coming up the middle at 2.21) morph together, and they are now in both headphones making a syncopated rhythm. Kick (first beat)Buh Buhhpa Buh , Kick(third beat) Buh Bahhpa Buh . That was the part that I thought sounded really cool although its hard to describe as there is a lot going on. The two glasses rubbing together sound probably wouldn't sound that good by itself without the Buh Buhhpa Buh sound that kind of interacts with it. There is also a really cool sound effect right on the first beat that comes in after 2.28 and it interacts with the first closed hihat making an Ungh Thith sound. (With Ungh representing the sound effect and Thith representing the closed hihat)
