    in the midi editor there's an option "Automatically correct overlapping notes"

    but if i move some note over another note of the same length for example...how can i choose or how its chosen which note wins the overlap?

    thanks

    If both notes start at the same time, then there is no overlap.
    Overlap means that the beginning and the end of a note overlap.

    The last note of two overlapping notes is always preferred then. It follows the same logic as
    "Trim content behind media items when editing", but for MIDI notes.

    in my opinion the one you grab should take over....but this doesn't happen always as per ur example..i'm not sure if they didn't pay too much attention on this and i dont' know how to make it work like this...the one you grab to take over always

    No, it makes perfect sense the way it is.
    This option ensures that the beginning of a note stands clean and is not overlapped by the end of a note.
    It makes no sense to cut the beginning of a note to keep the end of another note clean.

    thanks please also confirm this

    when placing a note Exactly over another note (Both notes same length), the one with LOWER velocity wins...is this correct? i can't understand why this is the case...but it seems it works like this

    :no: ->
    If a note is placed over another note and both notes have the same length, the note that takes the place of the other remains.
    It's simple logic.

    when you put a note on C4...and one on C3 (on the same beat with same length) .......and drag one over another...the one with lower velocity wins

    but when notes are next to each other on same midi note they behave differently as you said above

    nevermind now i tested it again and its not working as i thought i did....anyway i will look at your answers once again..much appreciated!
