Can anyone help with connecting the plugin in Logic to Crossgridder? I have the 1.2 b6 version but it always says 'not connected' and have tried changing all parameters. I think it may be something to do with my firewall but don't know what it could be

    Yeah, nope, not really.
What computers would you like to use?
And for what would this computer serve, as server or daw?
The last (and most powerful of that time) iterations of PPCs were the G4 and G5 macs and those were so loud, it was unbearable as hell. If you wanted to use an iBook or iMac G3, well there would be critical limitations of screen resolution and ram and ethernet speed.

when on an old i5 i can run 50 to hundred plugins, i cant even imagine how many is possible on a 12th gen intel or new ryzens, this technology makes no sense at all to me

Realy? I mean seriously WTAF.. Maybe I should fish mine out of the dumpster for you?:woot:
and Another One.. 50 to 100 64 bit plugs on an i5? Take your meds man. With statements like that, you'd obviously never see the point ..:dont:

I run Zero and tweak a part before I Print as part of my workflow. I'm mostly using my server for my sample library and windows Plugs into my M1 in Bitwig & Studio One..1.1 is really solid.

Recently traded my Mac Mini for an M1Promax Macbook Pro so
I've been testing the Beta server and Plugin and had some issues.. gone back to V1.1mac M1 version & Win 1.1 stable. Not quite there Yet.

To the ones getting the 55056 shit , When Audio Gridder is trying to do the Scan, go to the windows toolbar and click on the Audio Gridder icon and go to server settings and uncheck everything then you will be able to get it to work.

You could have got the same performance (pretty much) out of am M1 Mac Mini with 16 gig of Unified Ram that runs silently, is small footprint & uses 1/10th of the power

let's not forget the cost of M1 MacMini with 16GB ram and reasonable storage, if it consumes only 1/10 power, then any used 6-core i7 PC which literally costs less than 1/10 of MacMini remains a better value,
and noise isn't really a measure, as most PC cpus can be fitted with much better cooler and be equally silent despite the higher power draw

What´s the matter of power used? Electricity bill?? It´s included in my rent anyway. Noise and heat ain´t problem, silenced racks for that.
I just checked the prices for mac mini, whopping 1049€ (8Gb, 512Gb) , and no 16gb model available.
This thing cost me only little over 100€.
We could turn this to a mac vs win wanking, but I think there´s another thread for this. And I´m too old for that

I have an old 2015 Macbook Pro laying around and I've bought an usb to RJ45 adapter and a RJ45 cable.
I want to plug in the RJ45 cable from the adapter to my router so I can use the Macbook as a server and my Windows rig as a plugin instance, both connected in LAN.

I've read in this thread that it's advisable to change some router's settings before launching the AG server on the Mac, so what are those recommended settings ?

Just got Crossgridder finally up and running!! What an absolute delight. I've come into a problem though using the VMWare method. I've tried for hours and can't get the VM to interact with the host. When trying to view the files in the File explorer, I get a constant loop of asking for the login credentials. There must be something blocking it as I can ping the ip and it shows in the Networks, just won't let me in. Thus, the Audiogridder server also won't connect. Did anyone else have this issue using a VM?

    Running:
    VMWare Fusion 12
    Fedora 36
    macOS Monterey
    LPX 10.7.4
    Crossover 21
    Audiogridder 1.2 b6

btw i am able to use it through normal Crossgridder on Mac, just not on the VM. Hence no oeksound, softube etc. thanks

    1) are you using NAT or Bridge network for the VM?
    2) are you using home network in Windows sharing/security?
    3) can you try Reaper ReaStream or Vienna Ensemble Pro (free demo) which are both capable of network streams to determine if the problem is with AudioGridder in your VM, or VM guest as a whole?

    Hi,
Neither work, when entering login and workgroup, it bounces back straight away to another reset login prompt. Tried on all types of connection. Interestingly, I can access my laptop files through it on remote access, but it will not let me into the host computer. I will look through the security, there must be some firewall preventing it

The server came, but I've been having trouble installing SSD's and OS. I think it's with iLo software, I really don't know much about servers and haven't got much time. There's also this VMware exsi or something that I can't login into.

I believe Audiogridder requires the same instance (major and minor rev I believe) of an instrument plugin on the server and client sides, is that correct? If so, is there a list of all the instrument plugins on the sister site that are have the same version available for both mac and PC? That would be useful in this instance.

    Thank you

Nope, for Audiogridder you only need plugins on the server side. ReaMote for Reaper requires plugins to be on both computers.
