I signed up for the $29 thing, for a start its not $29, its $29 plus local taxes, and $1 + local taxes, effectively working out to be around $34.99.
Why? well I found I was spending about that amount each time they waved a sale in front of me, which was really often, usually I would wait till the plugin had fallen in price a bit. But now I have the subscription I find I'm actually spending less, as I simply ignore the sales and tell myself one a month, dude. I no longer have to wait the price to drop (good for that one you do actually want) and so far they have kept me sufficiently interested to keep the sub up... How long that will be who knows, the sampler is mince and currently not the thing that's going to keep me subbed. Do I actually need any of this crap, no, I could write a decent song with about 5 plugins and my DAW... Am I a sad middle age dude, obsessed with music technology, who's local pub has shut down and has nothing else to spend his cash on, yes... But beware PA, if it comes to my electric bill or a PA plugin, you'll be first to go as you have effectively created the Panini football sticker book for the tech savvy producer and I'm wise to you.

To me it seems checking email regularly for coupon codes to use in conjunction with the sale prices is best. Often you can buy one of their newest flagship plugins for $25. And the popular ones that are at least a year old you can catch for $18 or less.

I don't trust PA's modeling, no matter what the reviews say. "Just like the original hardware" my ass. But these GUIs look great. I'll take their entire stock.

That might work if only they actually had the 'best tools' out there..

Absolutely, it might be good as it's own thing, but how good of a recreation is it really? I'd be surprised if the PQ sounds anything like a PQ, but it could sound great regardless.

Fabien Schivre (TDR) once said that it's absolutely possible to make plugin sound exactly like the hardware, but no computer can calculate this in realtime (so far).

What counts as "ANY 1 PA Plugin" ?

Does that mean any plugin on the Plugin Alliance website, like the Shadow Hills Mastering Compressor Class A?

Am I remembering correctly that there is a known issue with either some, or all, of P.A. plugins on windows 64bit and Cubase 11 and 12?

If I remember rightly there was a bug last year but was resolved around Oct/Nov 21. I've certainly not noticed anything lately.

    Yeah that sounds about right.

    Very tempted I must say.

Affected plugins were blocklisted in Cubase 11/12 and they were VST2 only. VST3 was fine. But this issue was resolved in recent updates.
I was beta testing them until final fix came out. Now it's all good

I signed up, it really is as good as it sounds...

I was quite strategic, subbed to forever 29 and the Mix and Master bundle yearly. Got an instant $150 coupon and any plugin for $1 coupon. Then bought the Plugin Alliance Intro Bundle, Shadow Hills Mastering Compressor Class A and SPL Transient Designer Plus with my $150 coupon and bought Knifonium for $1.

Edited to add: Also get to keep 8 plugins from the Mix and Master bundle forever, every year, year on year.
