You mean the little dub/reggae chord stab thing? It could be anything, but if it is from hardware; it's most likely from a Casio. It could be a Farfisa possibly?

You want it to sound like this, on purpose? :(

well, the MT40 is my guess. I think you would probably find a good plugin synth for this kind of thing in the Arturia synths.
There is a small snip of a vocal at the beginning of the file. Do you know what song it is actually from? That's how I like to figure out things I am trying to ID. Anyway, here is a article about the Casiotone MT40 in Reggae music. :)

it's probably the same band/players as this one then too. I'd try some of the EP's in Logic personally. But how about a Korg M1? This is mid 90s stuff; so maybe even Roland D-50 types of synths. I guess how to make this one would depend on what you have available to you, and then some chord stabs as midi. It's probably only a slightly modified preset once you get the board id'd. These guys were not the biggest sound designers back then. Think of only a front panel with your options.

    yes. this one. wicked :)

If I were going to make that sound I would layer two things: a very bad very dry electric piano, kind of fake sounding like an RMI or a Seil, or a piano sampled at 6 bits or lower. Then I'd layer a terrible dry single oscillator flute sound, possibly like you would get with the ARP Pro-Soloist but doable on probably any analog synth. And that sounds to me like the EXACT stuff a legit reggae band would have back in the day. Cheap 80s Casio stuff is also probably a very good call.
Either way, bad piano, bad flute.

The Logic EP Wulitzer200a preset is sort of close to both sounds actually. (cheap, organ-ish). The Mellotron flute is also close. I doubt they had one even then; in 95 they were already quite rare

Nah, worries in the dance is backed by the Radics, its the rub a dub years, early 80s.
the other one (sara) is produced by steelie and cleavie, in the 90s.

all the synths named here are possibilities, jamaican producers are gear nuts, just add the oberheim dx to that list
the wurli bell kind of sound could also come from a sort of fm synth, dx7 or whatever
