I would be all over those Minified Kontakt libraries if that sort of instruments were my thing. The size difference is much larger than any reduction in quality. If someone was buying one they particularly liked or used frequently; it would probably matter more to that person. I would be more apt use the same instrument for Falcon before the Kontakt one, but I generally work on a laptop anyway. I still use Lacie 4tb externals, so there is that. :)

They are very easy to rationalize compared with external SSD the same way. Sometimes the cheap route is best, but usually not.

I've had the same problem, especially as Mac user and since I rely only on internal SSD and Time Machine (External drives are not an option, especially with stuff like Kontakt, so it's better/faster/safer to spend the big bucks on a huge internal SSD drive + a huge external HD to back it all up in real time with Time Machine - and Dropbox too!)

I'm saving up to get a M2 MBP with at least 8TB of native SSD HD and apparently brands like Sandisk are finally about to coming up with 8TB SSD external drives (I would need 10TB minimum though to back up an 8TB drive with Time Machine).

You will need 6'000 USD for the 8TB MBP + 2'000/3'000 USD for the external 8TB+ SSD drive though.

But you will be sorted and safe for the next 5 to 7 years.

I solved with a Fantec unit: 8 hd 8tb in a single USB port ... but they could have been 8 hd 10 or 12 tb, and always in a single USB port
