When you 1) don't buy, 2) buy, where do you source techno for your mixes? So far, I have been relying on either pirate bay or individual tracks dl'ed from youtube but especially latter approach is taking plenty of time.

not sure if you mean "comparing" techno tracks to your productions , but If youre using a converter to download songs from youtube they are not going to be the standard quality (320 kbps) ... you may not notice a difference in the audio unless you sound set up is pretty high quality. when i first got the djm 900nxs 2 , i could instantly hear the difference between the tracks i bought from beatport compared to the tracks i DL'd using a youtube converter. I'd say just buy individual tracks from beatport , or even bandcamp , also sometimes artists have free download links to their songs on soundcloud (but not always)
So basically - beatport, bandcamp, maybe soundcloud. Plus it's good to support the artist for making music you enjoy
