It's not exactly just the preset in plugin form, but probably based on the same processing chain. It's more than a fixed preset, since you can control the parameters. His original Ozone processing chain also has some stereo widening in the upper mids going on. Don't know whether the plugin does it too under the hood, but there seems to be no dedicated control (maybe it's one of the parameters that are affected by the big particle rotary knob?). I would buy this plugin for 30 bucks, not more.

 

Can the sound really be that different, assuming you for example use the multiband compressor of Ozone 4 vs Ozone 9 and set it to the exact same parameters? Fair enough, there are quite a few variables to consider, but a compressor set to the same response (attack, release, ratio, knee) and applied to the exact same frequency band will roughly sound the same, assuming there are no additional modalities and topologies (eg feedforward VS feedback etc) involved. The idea that a two multiband compressors with a rather generic set of parameters will sound completely different, just because we are talking about two different revisions (v4 vs v9) of the same plugin (Ozone) seems hard to believe. There might be some minor differences (in my recollection of using Ozone 4 more than a decade ago?) it aliased like hell, the latest versions probably have less aliasing going on, maybe use linear phase vs minimum phase etc. But it's not a world of a difference in sound.

i didn't justify buying this plugin or anything. i didn't even buy it myself, i just don't understand the hate towards something that's so straight forward. they're not even stating that YOU NEED THIS TO MAKE HITS like some other plug-in marketings . This is just simply a mix bus chain put together into one, just like the Scheps Omni Channel, those who doesn't need it, doesn't need it . that's about it. but it doesn't mean it's a scam , Andrew said himself that he wanted his favourite tools in one plugin that's why he made the channel strip. and he put it out there for someone who might benefit from the plugin. simple as that.
Saying someone who can mix and understand the matter won't need a specific tool to get his work done is like saying you don't need anything except for a good console board if you can mix .
Andy Wallace did it .
if you are so good yourself, why do you need soothe in your plugin list?

Not completely, i am 100% sure that the Multiband Compressor and Imager are from the Ozone 4 and the saturation might be from Ozone 5. and he also uses an AMT plugin in the end for some high end eq and loudness control, that might be built into it too.
What I am sure about is, he put together all the plugin he uses in his mixbus, made it a plugin and improved on the sound. because it sounds a little more cleaner when compared with the og Ozone 4 preset.

 

The market is saturated and now they are trying to use marketing tricks to convince you that you have to buy it, even though you already have everything you need for mixing and mastering.

It half worked on me. I downloaded the warez release from sissi. I couldn't actually be bothered to install it and try it out though. I don't have *that* much free time.

 

The best part about this plug is that it doesn't feature a photo of Jaycen with short shorts & hairy ass legs in GUI anywhere!!

The sound IS really different, you should check for yourself before enter the discussion. I really can´t believe you have such an auditive memory to remember the aliasing in a plugin you´ve heard more then ten years ago.

Awesome plugin. Tested it and ended up keeping it. Doesn't work on all songs, but when it does, it's a different story. Can really bring a dead mix back to life or be the icing on the cake when needed.

I'm so depressed becuase I'm late at the jokes party over this plug-in. Such a waste on my side...

 

As usual lot of bla bla bla but nothing technical infos about what really you dislike or love or fucking care about this plugin….so here my 2 cents.
Tested in the mac pro test partition,on some final mixes here…
Is not for me, the stereo widener’s is uncontrollable, it does open the stereo front too much every time the mix knob going over the 70%, the multiband compression is working better in some cases where the bpm of the audio material is not high (over 130 bpm aprox), for fast tracks you can feel that low ends starts to fails, the limiter is a decent one but nothing special. Saturation? Nothing special too…works better at 30-50% of the mix knob, not to say uowww.
Sincerely i do like to have more control, and understanding what is going on because the source audio needs what i think it is missing or exceed on what i thing needs to be cutted, with this plugin you will never learn to mix right or mastering right, so maybe is missing a pro section where you can mod the parameters of the compressor, the eq, the stereo widner and the saturator …and the limiter….but we already have something like that? Right?
Maybe it helps to other mix bus? (Drums)? Be careful to low ends…and stereo space phase crap.
Maybe helps to start to mix with it activated already in the master bus? Bah who needs this? Not me, not my workflow, i already spent time to learn to use hardware and plugins, learn to listen what is missing or what it exceeds. This toy is not for pro and not for beginners, end of the game.
