That's weird, Jaycen Joshua mostly does Hip Hop and Rap records
And he is known for getting massive low ends in his mixes

 

Since light travels faster than sound, this plugin will trick your eyes even before the audio hits your ears.

 

This is nonsense. Since version 5, the coding itself has changed and the sound is completely different.

 

I am actually more suspicious of a product with a 5 day demo (Like this one), compared to NO demo (Like UVI). "Look how pretty", yeah just don't look too hard.

Everything about this shouts that it is *probably* snake oil from the highest available mountaintop. I wouldn't gamble 80 bucks that anyone posting in the thread will be using it still in a few months.

 

You should not test for longer, because the effect of the hype then wears off after the sixth day.

What do we learn from this?
The "new" marketing concept is even a little more sophisticated than the old marketing concept.

The ingredients are:

- 79 EUR is in reality yes almost 80 EUR, at 80 EUR they would sell less.

- The name "God Particle", is trickily thought out to make people curious.
Oh "God Particle" I'll have to take a look at that. I wonder what it is?

- Then very big the master mixer Joshua with his Grammy....
You take someone successful, he will know what is good for us, because he has produced many hits.

- You take the best marketing boss with the best graphic designer...

- Short development times

 

I really don't know what that is all about, which is why it is a red flag to me. I don't think I have ever seen that approach. I have no intention of demoing or buying it either way. But the marketing makes it look pretty bad, to someone who is inherently skeptical of people who would like my money to become theirs.

This is funny, so the plugin is bad because it has a over the top promotion video? because a celebrity engineer is endorsing the plugin? because you can't control what's going on with the plugin? because it's a set and forget plugin?Or is it because you don't like Jaycen Joshua personally? Or maybe it's because you couldn't make the plugin work for you.
come on, Serban said the same thing about his mixbus plugins. he doesn't change a thing on his mixbus and it's the same since decades.
That's exactly how analog consoles worked too. They had a sound that the engineers built the mix into.
And as far as plugin goes, I've seen popular mixers like John Costello quoting "Never use Waves Doubler , it sounds shit " but then John Hanes confirming that Serban uses Waves Doubler on all the vocals .
That's the main problem, some people think just because they can't make something work it's not worthy of using or investing.
All the people hating didn't even use the plugin and already assuming it's bad because it has flashy GUI and no controls.
That's what it's supposed to be !! Its Jaycen's mixbus process, exactly what he uses and how he likes it, and he doesn't change a thing.

 

Maybe it is an attempt to peel back some money from Izotope instead. The target audience doesn't want to buy Ozone for more money, for it to just do his version of things anyway. How magic can it be, if you have to do your entire mix with it already loaded? You could probably stick a bit crusher there if you wanted. and get away with it.

if its marketing makes it look like a scam, it is poor marketing. that isn't funny.

It's mainly because you can't get Ozone 4 anymore. iZotope met with Jaycen and tried to do something about the algorithms of Ozone 4, of they could make a new program with the same codes but they couldn't since the coder can't be found anymore . So Jaycen teamed up with a company that can replicate the algorithm and gave the people an alternate solution who wants to use his mixbus processing.

 

Someone who can mix and understands something of the matter would not buy the God Particel, because he does not need it and it is completely superfluous.

The beginner, however, is suggested, come you need this plugin so that your mixes sound better. And that's where the marketing comes in to win you as a new buyer. Instead of spending 79 EUR you should rather buy a recording book with the money.

 

The fabled wonders of some rare obsolete version rather than learning the new version has been a thing forever too.

The Mac version of 4 is a universal binary release. Is it worth looking, I can install on cheesegrater. Is the 80 dollars of magic in there too?

That could really lead to some interesting conversations with prior clients. "You charged me 62 grand for this work.....and all I got was a plugin?" yeah, that would be uncomfortable. And the UAD version.
