now i know microsoft is not all that musical, but might it be a good idea to post the occational windows version on the sister site? we see the occasional winrar or winiso release, why not a pre-tweaked os with audio in mind.

 

They are mainly used for older pcs with old hardware. It's the same windows 10 just REALLY stripped out and many services and extra bloat aren't there, as well as it doesn't have Windows Defender or Windows update, and is generally made to be used for gaming.

But when it comes to Audio i dont think i would recommend it, because you might find some issues with the audio drivers or when installing plugins, DAWs, ...

 

just as i thought. but why should only gamers get their specialized windows version?
regarding the drivers, gamers use surround audio, so...

 

there are so many issues that are specific to those types of builds, because they are quite custom; sometimes made for maybe a certain type of machine, or whatever. (you all have different hardware) People use builds like Oprekin or others. But surely someone has submitted these types of windows builds to publish and that did not happen? I think they are extremely specific and require lots of user assistance from the "vendor"; a bunch of them going and seemingly endorsed would probably be a nightmare.

Im currently user of phoenix win11 and all works fine so far.
Very fast installation, and its rlly light. All recommended drivers installed without any issues. Daw (nuendo) and vsti,vst works as well.
Your start with local acc but u have option to login a MS acc. Updates are off until 2077 but u can active them and download the updates.

only issue i see is it logs in as admin, should i make a user account?

You logs as Admin and thats a local name/account. U can change the mas for what u want.
MS accou is a microsoft account.

 

I use Win11Pro 21H2 by GhostSpectre and it works perfectly. What all these tweaked Win versions show us all, is that MS puts a dang lot of crap (mostly useless) on their releases.
They should do a system as light and optimized as all the tweaked versions around, and put ALL the "extra" content available to download for free for anyone that needs/wants it.
