Hello! I've been needing some new headphones for a while, the ones I've been using have gone pretty old.

I'm tryna look for some headphones that are very good for mixing and Mastering, as well probably good for gaming also,
Also has a microphone attached with it also that is able to be moved around (gaming)

I would get the budget higher but I know damn well my parents are NOT gonna allow me to buy more then 50 dollars, even though its my OWN money.

    Anyway yeah...!

I know I can just do a quick google search but I wanna see if anyone actually got what I'm tryna look for here in this forum. Google searches weren't the best when I tried.

Crossing all 4 requirements with just 50 bucks would be a small miracle.

For mixing, get a pair of Koss KSC75 (20 bucks, sometimes on sale for 15) and order the Parts Express headband for maybe 5 bucks. You don't need the drivers that come with it, just the headband itself. For such a cheap but effective fix I wouldn't exactly call it optional. If you have some spare cash try ordering some Yaxi pads for them, they're optional but extremely recommended (they're from Japan so be prepared to pay a bit, all in all the total price for all this should be 50 bucks)

For mastering, try the Yuin G2A. These are exactly 49 bucks.

Both of the above will work wonderfully for regular playback too. Highly recommended headphones in general, not just on a budget. The Koss punch a good half dozen times above their price and I've heard 100+ bucks Audio Technicas that sound a lot worse than the Yuins.

For gaming, either of the two above could work. Yuins are probably slightly better for this.

As for microphones, you're out of luck unless you want to use a few adapters. In which case consider one of those 15$ lavalier microphones you can find on Amazon, they're not studio quality but they'll do fine for gaming. Some of them have regular USB plugs so maybe consider one of those.

I know one guy on another forum who uses Turtle Beach XO One headset ands his tracks/mixes turn out nicely.

https://www.target.com/s/turtle+beach+xo+one?Nao=24 There are lots of them in your budget range, but they are all going to be "gaming headsets" because you want a microphone included on them.

That's fine, but mastering over headphones regardless of price is a mission impossible. For $ 50 you can only get gaming headphones. I mean, you can mix or master over the TV speakers if you want :disco::winker:

I mean, at 50 bucks price point, you're not going to find anything you can "master" with... So just cross mastering off your list.. You cannot master in headphones anyhow.. So you want a gaming HEADSET that is pretty flat in frequency. Well, you're out of luck on any frequency plots for gaming headsets so.. I recommend to you ANY gaming headset in a well known and respected brand.

To be honest, you're just looking for a gaming headset that you can use to mix Tracks with..

Translation: you're looking for a gaming headset with the flattest frequency response.

Cheap gaming headsets don't have frequency plots.. So.. You won't get a good answer to your question here. So buy the most expensive headset you can in a trusted brand. Think turtle Beach, corsair, etc.. And then cross your fingers. Lol

    Good luck on your search.

So a quick search for the cans show they are well over 100 dollars. Got any links to where someone might buy them for under 50 bucks? I see them going for anywhere from 150 to 300 bucks.

    Sincerely yours,

Honestly, I think you are right, I am probably looking for some good gaming headsets that I can use for mastering I guess. Maybe I can look for some good quality gaming headsets then.

Okay, I gotcha.. So, I suppose that is one solution.. Try Buy an expensive Headset for under $50, used, on a second hand market like eBay.

Money is always a problem. But you should never put your money in low budget stuff.
If you buy cheap, you buy again.

I use Beyerndynamics DT 1990 Pro for around $500.

From my point of view, they are different objectives.
    Mix and Gaming
I have a mixing one and a gaming one, although I only use the mixing one.
The Gaming one has a lot of realse in the bass and it has a vibration when there are shots, I also use it as a dildo (just kidding).
And I have the MDR 7506 That seem good to me, I never tried something better because my money doesn't reach it, I couldn't compare them. But good son. I bought them on Ebay a while ago for less than 50 dollars. What I don't know is how much they cost now.
