Hi! I would probably get a DELL Precision T7810 (Intel Dual Xeon v3 1.9GHz 15Mb Cache 16GB ECC RAM Win10 ) Workstation. My question is, are these “workstations” suitable for this musical use, or are they specifically designed for server work? Maybe if anyone has experience, please let me know that it is suitable for running this Cubase 12 stably, not too big projects .. Thanks ..

Unless you are getting that unit a a really good price with one of the following with a V4 CPU, no:
    • E5-2620 2.4GHz x 2 (total 12 cores, 24 threads)
    • E5-2643 3.4GHz x 2 (total 12 cores, 24 threads) ideal @ 3.4GHz
Memory should be a minimum of 32GB, Preferably 64GB. OS should be Windows 10 for Workstations or Enterprise to enable complete multi CPU functionality.

    Hi there,
I have T7610 with 1x E5-1650v2 and 128GB RAM, using Cubase mainly for orchestral stuff. Dell Precision workstations are a very good bang for a buck(second-hand ones of course). A lot of us use these (and HP "Z" series workstations) because they are cheap and reliable option for having let's say dual 8-12 core Xeons and 128-256GB of RAM (or more). However, like it's being said above 1.9GHz isn't promising at all, and with 16GB of RAM is extremely limiting.
