Just noticed that they've released Pro Tools Artist

32 track limit and 16 tracks recording simultaneously. I don't get why DAW developers add restrictions like these nowadays
Sure, it's certainly enough for most people just starting out recording music but it's just such a stupid restriction!

Slowtools has been a money grab since far longer than "avid". It was the same bullshit when it was still Digidesign. (they were maybe even worse).

 

I hope the users become smart and let avid goes to black hole. If we abandon this type of greedy policies of subscription models that is like a gun to your head business model then companies will not push this shitty trend down the throat.

Because it's their replacement for Pro Tools First. People complained you couldn't make music with a limit of working on max 3 songs before having to delete one to make room in cloud storage, and not being able to use any 3rd party plugins at all (except Avid ones from the marketplace). So they discontinued the free tier and made a paid one that's barely adequate for a beginner.

 

Elementary, install and test. Working!

too bad i dont have a legit license so i can get the latest r2r pro tools ultimate fully working
it would last me another 15 years. sigh. now i cant even buy a license for that specific r2r version

alome that protools has AIR plugins bundles says all about their quality. air is lame.

 

What is not “lame” ? Just my 5cents,I started using pro tools 12 years ago it was 8 le then hd,using built in eq7/air/smack etc every single day,sometime it’s a chart top songs (Ukraine) sometimes not. Pro tools is fu*ng expensive - yes,full of bugs - yes,any other problem - yes,but lame ??

 

used on more billboard hits than you can imagine.

the standards are standards for a reason and no matter how hard they are to crack someday r2r will manage it

yes waves.. then pro tools stock plugins, mcdsp, sonnox are everything real industry professionals need. serban gheneas gearslutz thread confirmed this again and again. its just not a debate. its thus no wonder they are the hardest to crack.

 

That doent make the company AIR better. All their instruments are buggy even to a useless extends and they simply dont care and do not fix bugs. THATs why I find them LAME

oh instruments yeee, he sold the company and started ujam. im talking the effects partially bundled with pro tools, and available as a bigger pack separetely. i know noone that seriously uses pro tools for composition.

Things with Avid will only change if R2R takes action on Pro Tools by releasing it. If not, as is happening, abuses like this will continue on legit users.
