My original idea was to make just the one long track (as its kind of one story) but then thought better of it.

Hope you like it, and any constructive criticism and advice is most welcome - thanks to you all my mixing has come a long way.

    hope you enjoy. :thanks:

Nice to hear some real instruments here, not just generic samples pasted ad nauseam. Very Pinkfloyean. Keep on with this.

The thing I'd urgently change is the too high compressed bass. The boomy high level low end almost destroys the listening pleasure.

Other that that, nice one. :like:

thank you all for the comments and the positive feedback :)

This I think is my ears or my setup - and something that I guess I need to work on. Thanks for pointing it out and I'll work on this on my new stuff - not that I've started recording yet. @No Avenger - was this on every track? just so I can spot it and improve my mixing, thanks.

I don't think your ears are compressing the bass. [IMG] :winker:
You can also see this in an analyzer.

Oops, there're more tracks? Imma have a listen...

    EDIT:
Track 2: overall a bit bass heavy. 'Interesting' spike at ~ 25Hz. Oh that boom sound at 4:40 ff is a no-go. I wouldn't dare to play this in a club.

Track 3: yep, too much bass compression

Track 4: No too bass heavy instruments here but I can hear the same tendency.

uh oh.... @No Avenger - so it looks like I got the first track, which ever one that was, a bit wrong and built the rest to sort of fit with that and the snow ball ran down the hill from there - getting bigger.... and bigger..... and OMG....

track 2 yep I had all kinds of problems with that - it never crossed my mind to think about a club sound system and now you mention it - yep this track would be..... problematic.... :trolls::knock:

When I was finishing the tracks they all seemed a little too bright so I tilted them all a little and well - I guess that went a little too far - as for the compression I think I need to learn A LOT - and I'll follow the sage advice of "use a MB" and yeas - LEARN how to use one properly... so I guess - practice, practice and more practice.

Thanks for the top tips - I've got a lot to add to my - "when mixing things to remember" list....

If the lows and mids are balanced a tilt EQ is not the tools of choice, a high shelf, high band compressor or dyn EQ would be.

Ah ha... so I'll go back and re-trace my last few steps through the project files and take a look - and then IF (or if needed - after re balancing when) the lows and mids are OK I'll have a go at a high shelf, high band compressor or dyn EQ and see whats what -

thats another thing I've learn't :like: :thanks:
