Avid Pro Tools v2021 R2R... is it working fine? no major bugs? and problems ?

 

No HEAT, beat detective, or clip gain line, but other than that, it seems pretty stable

 

Pro Tools>Setup>Midi>Input Devices.

 

Works great using standard pt ilok acct. Recently updated an old ilok perpetual pt 10 ilok license with 1 year support to get ilok to 2021.12 which will also unlocks R2Rs 2021.7. Woot!! installed on Win 10 update 1909. It does not require update 21H1. Installing Eucon will break this fabulous gift from R2R. It does look like 21H1 may have much better audio latency than 1909 according the LatencyMon. Could not use predecrypted channelstrip, eqiii or elastic audio R2R files. Using these 3 threw errors or blank plugin screens. Best gift since PTHD12.5 from AU 5 years ago!!!! New perpetual ilok upgrade also included a year subscription to Heat. Clip gain line, bounce, import, vca all working. Sure having to use the ilok is a bummer but this gift totally rocks — but no Eucon. Thank you R2R!!

Yes, absolutely. In fact R2R pointed out that it is a release dedicated only to standard and ultimate PT users

 

you gotta have a up to date license though, i stopped updating at 2019 so this is useless to me sadly
hopefully r2r will rise to audioutopia level one day so we can have this and all the r2r aax

 

I completely agree .... I am staying on version 12.3.1 which is very stable with all the options, on win 10 21H2 + Digi 003 console.

 

Can they be installed in parallel?
I'm also staying in 12.5 since I've had no issues with it so far

 

Yes, copy paste program files and common files associated with the versions, rename the folder the program files are in then you can install 2021 along side. Right now im running 12.5 audioutopia alongside my legit 2021 pt license all running well and video engine working for both

 

Eucon (2020.11) works with 2021.7 R2R if you don’t use anything in the Optional R2R folder.

 

Looks like R2R have been hard at it on the sister site with a bunch of new DAW's, hopefully PT will get some love and a proper release....

 

anyone know how i can use pro tools first of r2r as Avid has discontinued the First pro tools from their website.

I don't have account for Pro tool first.

 

Without an active first account, you can't, just grab you a version of Cubase Pro 12 off the sister site, I don't think PT is going to get a proper release

Totally agree. Surely there will never be a new Pro Tools release. God bless AudioUTOPiA. It's been over 7 years since the biggest release of all time.

or at least not in the short future, cause if they could get it to work as 'extended' then there is possible to have it full.... but maybe it is not that stable yet
