Apple today released the new Logic Pro update 10.7.3. Now you can monitor your Dolby Atmos mix in real-time, using Apple's Spatial Audio engine, including Head Tracking - an industry first.

For Spatial audio monitoring with had tracking you need a M1 mac with macOS Monterey 12.3 at least. They also included "a more accurate preview of spatial audio playback on Apple Music" which also requires latest os update.

it almost seems like a good time for them to just burn up the rest of the version numbers and be done with 10(x). Do you expect very much more *major* new stuff to be added still? I do not.

Maybe a better plugin browser/search function. Plugsearch is good but it's not integrated.

 

I'm not expecting them to go ripping out the "live loops" junk and replacing it with Bitwig or anything crazy. (they should do this anyway, because it is junk).

I'd just like a better picture of things before upgrading to m1. 11 (or whatever) will probably be m1 processors only, or something equally hostage-taking like. because it is apple, after all.

 

Not completely true:
You need macOS12.3 for the three Apple Renderer options in the Monitoring Format of the Dolby Atmos Plug-in. The Apple silicon computer is only needed for the Head Tracking option.

 

Oops,. BTW updating to 10.7.3 now.

 

• A proper working Plugin Delay Compensation, it is still broken in 10.7.2 (fixed in 10.7.3?)
• Less latency for Spacial Audio stuff.
