Seriously, LOL! "If you're complaining about the price you cant afford it, don't want it enough, and ultimately don't deserve it."
Here's a perfect example of my point. You go ahead and pay that $6499.00 for the 1957 Les Paul Junior because I'm not worthy!

The new Mac Studio with the M1 Ultra chip is a screamer, but it’s also pricey. It starts at $3,999.
The base model Mac Studio costs considerably less. It starts at $1,999 – half the price of the Ultra model.
That means you can buy two Mac Studio computers with M1 Max chips for the same price as a single Mac Studio with the M1 Ultra.
Yes, you get extra storage and RAM when you buy the Ultra, but you are effectively paying an extra $2,000 for a second chip.
Now that’s an Apple tax Tim Cook can get behind!

If ever my 2012 mini quits, at least now there's this thing with lotsa ports that can replace it. Entry model's a bit rich though.

I have 2 1080p monitors running now, one using the MDP, the other HDMI. I could still use those with the Mac Studio, right? I mean the ports are there.... just that maybe it only likes these 4-5k monitors only or something. Idk, I'm not a techie

What does that even mean? Apple should change their pricing because some tech writer thinks they are too expensive? That argument is utterly ridiculous if you compare it to a high-end i9? I'd like to read the quote in context however, considering the R&D and resulting models on offer it's my opinion that the pricing is OK n relation to the performance you get.

It's like some Jehovah's Witnesses knocked on your door Dimentagon, and here you are arguing over the price :)

Are they like personal shoppers now or something? You know they are not shopping for one for them, no matter what it does.

the price is out of the roof for "normal users" audio users you only get 2 more cores.. and pay double the price for that..
not a good strategy in my opinion specially with the current world situation .. for audio 2 more cores won't change much..
of course 16 more of ram.. but for double the price? no thanks apple..

Man you guys are right, I really want a Bugatti but you know they just make them so expensive and overpriced. I am jumping on board, this is ridiculous.
With the current world situation... I mean I can buy how many Kia cars for the price of one Bugatti, and they use so much gasoline. Seriously, especially with the like I've already mentioned with the current world situation.

Gibson, Apple, Bugatti you guys are asshats, ripping off people, specially with the current world situation.

It's more like the future knocked on my door and said, "here's what you actually need to keep you going trouble-free for the next 5 years" and you're a butthurt broke assed PC fanboy arguing about Win7 being so wonderful coming over to the Apple thread to window gaze with a hard-on over something you are too pussy to admit you want but will never have or actually use.

Bring on the insults champion, Where're all those hot tracks?

Me: What if someday I want more?
    Apple: Fu*k you, that's how
Me: ok fine but when tech improves I'd like to be able to upgrade
    Apple: you heard heard us

    windows gaze at what, exactly?

my Macs are still intel for a reason. my 15.5 MacBook Pro i7 runs Mojave. My Mac Pro is old. it runs Logic 10.4 under high Sierra. I'll add something like this to the setup soon. I am not rushing into all new Silicon based yet. Thank you.

And insults. Are you still upset about that guys old hw thread where you posted a bunch of stuff you used to have supposedly? I was going to tell you at the time, but it felt like the wrong timing because the regular Olympics were still going on, that the Paralympics would be the next week.

That's when they would have all the other people who were missing some shit.

Sample me some of those alimony checks :)

The fact that you called a computer company, "Apple", "Mac" which is the actual name of their computer lines, is pretty cringe of you. You don't deserve to be a Mac user. :dont:

Precisely the reason Ill never sell my old 2012 Mac Pro. Great for crunching away with VSL while the iMac Pro does the grunt. Ive done major upgrades on this baby at least 3 times Never let me down. Totally solid.

Perhaps one day Apple will lose some of their cynicism toward their customer base.

As for the Jehovahs Witness comment. Keep crying those PC tears.

Way off-topic (sorry my fault Nobody's twisting anybody's arm... but I do agree, everything is expensive nowadays. Fxck paying that for a Gibson but if thats your big purchase then Knock yourself out. I will apologise on reflection for saying someone doesn't deserve something they can't afford, that's BS. I know a few "Strumblers that have pre-war Martins, top-line guitars that actually don't deserve them because they never get played. Mid-life crisis I guess.

My philosophy is I play the guitar because I love it and own it. I paid 3k Australian in 82 for my L-series tele. Its been with me on countless tracks and sessions and I'm still as inspired to play it as the day I saw it in 82. Like a few of my guitars, I will have them till I die.
I stupidly sold a 64 Blonde Epiphone Casino and a 74 ES345 stereo. I have only ever purchased one 2 new guitars. A tokai breezy sound tele in the early 80's and an Ibanez Blazer strat. Every other guitar I have purchased 2nd hand. I don't get "named" models being collector's items or reliced guitars.

2 types of Computers. A "PC" is a personal computer for personal use and "Plant or a tool" that is to get a paid job done that is tax-deductible. I guess I'm lucky enough to work art what love. I'm not a collector of instruments, I'm a player. I'm not owning a computer I cant make money from.

Like most of them, they don't wait forever, sell it and get the newest what-ever. Or, they write it off as a business expense. Or, they pad it into a client's project. I don't see Apple going back to the upgrade option unless it's at the very high end. Making it SoC integrated speeds everything up.

Way of the world and all I won't be jumping back on the platform for a while. But I do like that Studio.

you have that picture exactly right. and then those people upgrade when they don't really need to. and those are the machines that retain value, especially as just servers. they were over spec'd machines for what they were used for the entire time.

Seriously, I read this five times over and I still have absolutely no idea what you're trying to convey.
