I am currently buying gear: keyboards, drum machines, effects, compressors ..
What do you recommend to use when radioactive fallout arrives? What is better to use, balanced or unbalanced cables? I would not like to have uncomfortable background noises issues in the future

You have to set that up separately on the Cords page.

I recommend you run balanced cables into this and check the readouts every hour.

GPU cards - yes. Price is double and sometimes more than pre-COVID. My current GPU is worth as much 2nd hand as what I paid for it new.
I cannot validate over $2,000 for a card that in a non-chip-shortage is less than $1,000. Add to that some of the new GPU's require three power cables which means if did choose to go that way, I'd also have to buy a gold P/S larger than 1K as 850W may well not be enough.

I continue to buy more hardware.
After buying "first range" material like Roland, Novation or others I now start the modular and I just bought the Moog sound studio 3.
A little tired of using the mouse too but it must be admitted, the computer is still vital in my set.

For some people like the "islanders" and long distance participants ( US, UK, Australia) this thread might be pointless, but for us mainland Europeans and especially people living in central and eastern Europe this is a serious issue right now( war in Ukraine) and is affecting us on a larger scale.

They might only be Airfix models but from a distance they look real.

I've bought about 30 hamsters (25 female and 5 males to keep up the population) and 30 exercise wheels, rummaged around and found the rest of the materials to build a generating plant to make enough electricity to counteract any potential power outages here in Europe. I procured 30 kilos of sawdust and 50 kilos of hamster feed which should last us three years.

Oh yea, I bought some extra sets of acoustic strings too.

To be honest in our country nothing changes even if its war or anything the prices only increase there is never cut down on prices so i prefer to wait till it becomes normal work jobs are more stable then spend the money as no one is going to come are run our kitchen after all :)

The thread as a whole is a bit vague, but that's also necessary so that it doesn't turn into a political exchange. Where I live its called an "egg dance". :chilling:

However, so far everyone is sticking to the rules. As long as that remains so, why should it be closed!

Stocked up on hardware (lol) at the back end of 2020, before this stage of the game kicked in. It was quite obvious that we were going to be in for a period of inflation, can't shut down the economy and expect normality to follow.

Stock up on food if possible.
What is also important is to check you have everything you need to install an OS, drivers, DAW, plugins, backups of projects stored on HDDS, so you can keep on going without the internet, assuming electricity still works.
