looking for a Audiointerface

    Hello guys,



    got myself recently a Rode PodMic & Beyerdynamics DT990, and i still had this UR22 mk1 laying here, but it seems the Mic output is pretty low. everything on the Interface is cranked up and even in the windows settings.



    i guess there isnt just enough power for both, since its only get it by USB ? Should i just buy the mk2 (which has an additional power input iirc) or even a completly other Interface? mainly looking for high quality headphone output and good PreAmp for the said mic.

    Here's an idea :

    Grab an active dynamic/ribbon 'mic booster' like a CLOUD LIFTER, FETHEAD or Cathedral Pipes DURHAM MKii. Uses your 48V phantom power to add 20-28db to dynamic & ribbon mics. A good piece to always have 1 or 2 in your toolbox.

    I love my Apollo Twin. Fantastic interface and the integrated UA plugins make it a no-brainer. (IMHO)

    I would go with a cloudlifter or fethead as @bluerover recommended for the microphone.

    If you are using the 32OHM DT990 then you should not have issues driving it. The 250OHM it is your call, it should be fine but if you want it to sound its best get a headphone amp, 600OHM DT990 get a headphone amp, you can dress a dog up as donkey it's not going to make them pull the same cart.

    You can also use a little post compression or get a cheap inline comp to make the signal a little more friendly, a more expensive interface might not solve your problems.

    I love my Apollo too, but I think it's overkill for OP's needs. Especially considering the price.
    Some of their new VOLT interfaces maybe, or RME Babyface/Audient as mentioned would be just right.

    so i got the fethead, all good. while i was in the store i thought about this and just bought a little headphone amp aswell, and holy shit, i didnt know i needed it this bad hahaha. the quality + output literally just triplet :D so glad i found this forum here with all the awesome guys like you here.
