I am looking forward to the release notes. Easy link buttons and knobs on your midi devices are a killer feature! At least the Midi mapping to devices is an instant buy for me.

Yeah, but Steinberg is total mess today. Release notes gives error page, Cubase 12 is nowhere to see on main website and yet it IS available as now.

It seems no dongle required on the requirements page.

 

Typical cache issues. They have most likely time published certain pages/items and not synced it all. But then again, Steinberg's webshop pages are horrible from a customer experience point of view.

Weird, not a single word on the home page...

 

When I opened C12, an activation window (on the Steinbergs web page) opened, and I had to log in with my username and password details. It took 10 seconds, and then everything was OK. One thing that disappointed me was no support for windows 11 window snapping :-(

Will be updating to this soon, the midi mapping stuff looks worth the hassle alone! Interested to see though what happens with the VR Soft Elc stuff and if that still works. Don’t have a lot that I use from that, but would still like the option. Anyone used that bundle with 12?

 

I heard some internals today from a friend that personally knows a Steinberg guy: "The Protection will be still at very high level, similar level like the old one."

What that means for potential upcoming cracks i cannot say, but my guess would be we should not expect a working crack of cubase soon...

Even FL Studio protection is quite high level these days

It does. I have always kind of avoided the logical editor for years because I didn’t understand it properly and was only ever dicking around doing demos and stuff, but since I started composing more, some of the stuff in there to help create a more natural input set, it’s just fantastic, and I am definitely going to be looking deeper into it.

 

Is it clear how many computers can be activated under one account? Can't find it. Did it turn out to be 3? And can you work offline? Looks like a dope update, not sure if I agree this must cost $99 though
