Hi, just updated my waves complete to v13. Want to make use of the cosmos plugin, although wasn't sure whether I could use the legit version alongside the cracks.

I updated the whole thing to v13.

Although when I open the c8 sampler to access the cosmos plugin I am asked for a login. I made a waves login and used that although the plugin window goes black after puttin in these details. This also happens for the standalone.

Am I doing this wrong.

any info would be appreciated.

You have to choose a version, either Waves or the R2R, you can't do both.

CR8 doesn't work with cured version afaik, wait for a working patch

 

is there a way to get a legitimate version of cosmos and use it alongside the other.

 

I have a strange problem with waves 13 for a couple of versions now.

All plugins appear to work fine win 10th pro 21H2, but when I try to load any standalone app (eg. Gtr solo, Codex, etc.) I get a license not found error. They all load and work fine as vst3 plugins.
I have cleaned my system to remove all traces of waves, rebooted and re-installed a few times now and applied either the R2R lic bundle or VR's v13 patch each time I did. It makes no difference which one I use. I have reinstalled C++ and tried everything I could google as well as looked through r*tkr threads, all waves threads here, and sister site and can not find help fix this issue.

Anyone have any suggestions as to fix?

Why do you apply VR patch when using R2R emulator?

I did NOT apply both methods at once (my error, post should have said "either" not "both"). I tried each teams method to license in separate attempts to get this solved and they yielded the same results.

Any thoughts?

 

You need to copy the emulator after every time you install a plugin from Waves Central, if using R2R. Also have you checked the pre-install cleanup instructions in R2R emulator?

Thanks for the tips. I have done all of the suggested clean up as per R2R, and, yes, I recopy the license bundle if I add plugins to my waves bundle. As I stated previously, all of my plugins (including the new CR8) scan and load just fine in Reaper 6 and Studio One 5.5.1. The whole maddening problem is the standalones and I can not figure out why. I don't really need them all but, fear that this issue may also affect plugins in the future.

I am at a total loss at this point...

 

OK For anyone who has problems with COSMOS and it's hanging on start up screen "COSMOS is connecting to sample database.This may take a few seconds..."
It means your CPU does not support AVX (Advanced Vector Extensions) . Now even though my CPU on Wiki says it does when i use CPUID CPU-Z program the extension does not show. So that is the reason for this particular problem..
This also applies to CR8 as well .So that is why it doesn't show up in Ableton with Waveshell 13.4
At least for me but check the spec yourself

whatever you do never use the terminal command provided in the waves 13 folder, I had been trying to post here and elsewhere about this to warn people that the terminal command killing the network collects your user password, locks up your wifi so you can't shut it off while your system is been erased, assumed remotely...and you can't tell on OSX, everything already open runs like normal even when you put stuff in the trash, most of the times you can't delete trash if apps are in use but the apps not in use like Prefs, application support, fonts, system startup cache etc all erased.

when you un install older versions of waves make sure you check the users-sharing folder, its public, its why the terminal command was supposed to block it but reality is your supposed to with little snitch or Lulu...

Lulu can block things little snitch won't like apples OSCP spying back door system, when apple got caught doing this they claimed it took six months to fix it, hmm, I guess NSA cyber security chief who was head of apple security (under reserve laws to report to NSA) had to share 6 months of data they where collecting aka cloned your drive, don't be fooled by your connected, your paying for it, the web connection itself is finer speed, 1GB a sec...depending on how many 5g routers are around you.

and im told there are cyber trolls both for apple and developers stopping everywhere on the web....https://www.gnu.org/proprietary/malware-apple.en.html

-maybe you should mention the OS your using, if its catalina stick with v12....seriously nothing that good worth upgrading to v3
-maybe the same for BigSur.
whatever the case, Im asking around to know if more people lost their OS folders after installing waves 13 cause m very surprised no one said anything here of all places.

and all the people who had this issue has SIP off where in catalina and use Logic Pro
