I may be being a bit dumb here, but I have several drum programs installed in Logic X, that when I add them to an instrument slot, give me options of stereo or multi track outputs.
I keep trying to choose the multi option but everytime I look in the mixer, they sem to only have a stereo out?
Am I missing something basic here in Logic itself?

    Thanks!

I'm pretty sure it's me actually.
    Let me give an example:
I try to insert ezdrummer with either a stereo output option or the Multi-Output (16xStereo) option.
I choose the latter and get this pop up:
    DrumOut.jpg

Is there something I need to change here to give me the various outputs before clickung ok?

You create a multi-output instrument (not stereo). And then in the mixer you hit the + sign to add output tracks.
Then from the plugin you have to route the different instruments to each new track.

Thanks for the reply, but I'm being dumb here - any chance you could do a couple more screen grabs to explain the process?
    Thanks!

I mean I only have the + sign in the timeline window and not the mixer?
If I click on that i get the usual popup like before but what do I choose? Audio Tracks?

Route the audio out to individual inputs in your instrument of choice, just push the [+] a new channel will appear in the mixer.

The [+] should be in the mixer panel if you instrument has multiple outputs.

Hate to link the Youtubes but I just don't have the will to make a picture book, regardless of altruistic tendencies these things take time.

Thank you both for your help!

You made me understand a bit more and I found this video to bridge the gap:

    Cheers!
