With Mint, Acustica Audio once again releases emulations of various sections of an extremely rare studio hardware. This time it's about the GL2112 console, an ultra-rare model of which only two copies exist worldwide. Four plug-ins take care of the preamp, EQ, compressor and limiter.

Forget about the sound. The GUI is really good.

I did. Both the GUI and the sound are very, very good. Win, win.

Tape preamp sounds very phasey, harsh and thin, could be a bug.
Blond preamps sound much better, juicier and fatter.
EQ, good but nothing special. Honey EQ for example sounds better and boosts nicer.

I don't really get what it does, and it steps in to big amounts. But the SOA knob did a lot for the Acustica compressors,

Looks are good, and it's amazing to have sampled this very rare swiss unit.
Tape "pre" sounds horrible - bug or by design ?
Usually it is best to wait a couple months to iron out the bugs and have an even better discount.
Sounds very aggressive indeed. I prefer AA Brown 1000%.
I am back to freezing / comiting my tracks like hardware so AA is back in my daw!

How does the compressor even work? I can only achieve gain reduction on drums :/

I'm laughing because in the NL we refer to SOA as STD...knob.. lol.

I freaking love to hate Acustica. The CPU hit is no fun (and they really need to improve on that). They do make IMO nice plugins, soundwise and visually.
