I have already sent a PM BUT He had every idea because the documentation that is included from me has been removed from the download which states that any hosting of the files without permission is strictly prohibited. The downloads are hosted on my site and every file has an encoded ID showing my website name so I can check for this. I am a small time guy trying to help not just KK users but Blind users with the KK platform. I have a LOT of support from a lot of users, NI themselves and Plugin vendors and I have to spend a lot of time looking into these things.

The files on offer have all had the documentation removed, some of the vendor info changed and some of the images changed to mask the illegal download but I have already proven several cases to Google and Youtube and won every one so far.

I do not want to make trouble, I just want some respect for the work and if people want to make their own, power too them, Just spend weeks programming scripts and even longer managing websites and peoples inquiries. Just change the links to pont to my site and remove the downloads from the dropbox is all I am asking and no further action taken. Also, if people are after NKS files, that's part of what I do and at $6.50 US for an instrument it's hardly any reason to rip things off?

 

Maybe they were missing and changed when he found them on the WWWeb. Saying he removed or changed them is a pretty stern accusation without any proof. IJS

 

That is the risk one will take if they download files from unconfirmed sources or torrents then host them themselves. This is why the user themselves accepts responsibility if the files turn out to be illegally obtained. Just like buying a car from without all the right papers in check. If the cops come knocking about the car being stolen, doesn't matter if you thought it was all good if its in your hands you are in trouble. Same as if you did not make the files yourself, there is every possibility they belong to someone else so if unsure, don't host them.

That side of things is not my concern. I'm not interested to get into debates on the specifics of who/why the documentation has been removed etc. If the files are hosted on dropbox they have very strict regulations on what can be sent through their service and I have sent the proof I have which is normally enough. If they were not downloaded from my site i'd be interested to know where they did come from.

I know you are just sticking up for the guy and i'm sure he has the best intentions which is why I simply want the information on post one to point to and credit my works instead of offering a copied download. That way people can be assured the files they are getting are genuine and can access support if needed. I'm also happy to assist anyone else in this area with making their own and have been designing a "universal" script for Windows users to try and make preset making possible for other plugins using the scripts I use. The donations from users allow me to spend the time to develop these kinds of things which make everyone's lives easier since NI isn't interested themselves.
