Hello, I was going through UVI Falcon when I found this one really nice preset that was a huge nice drone sound, and it was made with noises and some OSC sound, I was like wow! I google searched and I did find some sample packs, but I want more.

So the question is, what's the best sample packs out there with like a TON of different noises, ranging from life and nature (birds water etc) to like rain and thunder to like white or crackle noises, etc.? just like a huge collection that can be used for pads or drone or atmospheres or whatever you want..

I wanna be clear I'm more or less talking about actual noise sounds, not those that sound like it was made with a synth and got put in with huge reverb with some noise added. A thread for sharing things!

 

you are talking about Field Recordings and Foley. there are tons. But when I think of Pads, drones, and atmospheres that I prefer, usually they are actually almost all synth based sources.

And Paulstretch. I almost forgot.

 

I'm also curious to look for peoples recommendation but tbh id much rather make my own atmospheres, it's so easy and fun just stretching those sounds and processing them. Venus Theory made a good video about this process last week.

 

I've wanted to mess with noises, just never knew where to start cause they seem so cool to use.

paulstretch or "Paul's extreme stretch" is in audacity, or you can look at the website http://hypermammut.sourceforge.net/paulstretch/
it's a very good trick for pads.

The stretch amount
There are three modes:

• The "HyperStretch" mode - may stretch up to 1,000,000,000,000,000,000 times (10^18)
• The "Shorten" mode - it reduces the length of the sound

I think droning is like ice-cream. There are a lot of flavors to start enjoing it so it´s all about self preferences.

I actually got some pretty cool sounds using that orchestral chords kontakt plug by cinesamples grabbed from sister site... different chord flavors per octave is nice. Play some 4ths or 5ths to get that big drone sound... currently making something now with it and it sounds like some celer song, like this... I love this stuff
