Wanted to ask your opinion about the use of Metaverses specifically for Musicians.

    How do you see it?

Soo question.. how would it even work?
Are we having like digital analog synths where we play music in the metaverse or are we making the music IN the metaverse through like your workstation? In an online place where people can hear the music?

Sorry I don't understand the metaverse much..

The largest problem on a wide scale i can see for now on pretty much any virtual enviroment would be audio latency, which is already a problem without even before being connected to anything. For sharing stuff, sure, but for having virtual jams or anything like that, i just don't think we're there yet, no matter how fast your connection is.

If with time they make it possible, i can see how it may be attractive for some people, but i think i'll pass.

Drop a buzzword and the corporate world starts FOMO'ing. Nearly 20 years ago we had Second Life, it still exists, best metaverse project ever. Companies misunderstood its purpose, and jumped on the meta train a few years later, only to find out it didn't work at all for them.

I don't see why we'd have to walk around in a 3D web all day long. Imagine having to log in to a metaverse app (worst case: owned by Meta, since everyone uses it), possibly firing up your 3D headset, then teleporting to the audiosex forumspace to react to this topic, using speech or motion to type this post. ATM i'd be more interested in reopening nightlife and see real people, hear real music and live dj-sets.

Maybe in a distant future it'd be cool to meet other musicians in a metaverse, and perhaps live-jam, or dance to dj-sets, wearing datasuits.

On the other hand, just to name another buzzword, web3 looks promising for musicians, when i look at audius.co for instance.

i think at this point anything can be considered as possible :dunno:

the question is: can it actually be useful.

I think it's a really cool concept, I can imagine people jamming out to some music where a big crowd would be in an online space, but I don't think it's suitable yet.

In order for it to be even remotely effective, first of all it has to be very common for most musicians to even have VR headsets, then you might have the issues of latency and delay, just like what @mk_96 said. When these problems are fixed or not a big problem, then the next question is how effective would it actually be to be in like a live concert or making music with your friends in a virtual reality, when you can have an even better experience in the real world. The experience difference between VR and real life will be drastically different.

At this point in the present, it's most likely not viable tbh and seems like more of a waste of time, however if you have a bunch of your homies together jamming with a virtual JUNO 106, now THAT would be lit for sure!

Just because you can, doesn't mean that you should. Google glass, silent discos, some things just ain't meant to be!

I don't know much about metaverse: at first glance it seems to be a cartoon internet.
Meh, it doesn't seem like a big progress to me, not even for artists. I’m waiting for a metaverse 2.0 where in addition to aesthetics there will be also cutting-edge content

    This way.

Jokes aside I sometimes dive into the degenerated world of vrchat. It is something like the metaverse in good. A few years of development ahead. A lot of musicians play their instrument there over mics. Or direct from their sounscards/interfaces. DJs making live sessions in clubs and at parties.

The metaverse will need some time but I think it will be a nice place for musicians and DJs. Especially for live concerts and Clubs.

One day someone will pay bands to play live in their metaverse place.
    We just need faster internet.

But I really love to feel the public physically ... There's nothing like this.

Metaverse as idea is cool, but TBH it looks like SIMS in VR, I think its tackled the wrong way.
As for musicians, sure there will be a lot of paid gigs for bands/solo musicians, there will be a lot of rich folks using it, so it will be pretty much as in real-life, showing off, money can buy anything, especially in virtual world!

In my opinion there's no point of being in the metaverse as a musician.
Youtube or Discord or WhatsApp (yes anyone can use WhatsApp through a Desktop PC or Mac and you can video call someone and you can route your audio into WhatsApp's input in excellent quality you can basically stream your desktop etc through WhatsApp)

I jumped in early into a NFT ecosystem which keeps growing and earning me about $28-$32 a day as the price keeps going up in the future I'll be paid more and more (there are compounding and claiming rewards daily based on my investments)
I don't want to advertise/give directions on what I do or how I did it because now it's a bit too late and people who would start it today wouldn't be able to make the profits what I'll be getting in a few months as the project grows for example in my case if my token's price reaches $1 I can cash out nearly $4.3 million (it's not a joke) I bought in very early when the price was below cents.
I know for people who has nothing to do with using the available online tools to make money in this day and age and no offense
I'm not lookin' down on average people simply if you are not a nerd you are not on the "crypto side of twitter" and you are not keeping an eye on the latest early opportunities and you not able to put your money in you'll never make a living in the crypto space.
I feel it is going to be massive and I probably quit my job this year's summer my returns will be insane just because of the compounding effect of my particular NFT's ecosystem.

Musicians? Nobody will have any use for us in the future. It's been slowly happening for years. Real music performed by professionals replaced with cRap and sHit Pop that can be puked up by any tone-deaf 'dee-jay' on his/her/it's iDroid or PeePad then tirelessly self-promoted through facespace because the damn 'instrument' they use is endlessly tied to their heads and eyeballs. I miss booking agencies, and bars that cared enough about the quality of (insert your style here) music to seek them out and use them. But why should they care when the brain-dead population of youngsters are entertaining themselves with endless 'beatz' set to press-this-button-and-hear-a-fart apps flooding the PAY STORES of carefully cultivated dog shit that can be had immediately for only 99 cents. Stolen identity / bank account emptied at no extra charge!

Some people we have already lost. The world will become so bad that the science fiction movies we have all seen will come true. Dreams will be dealt and there will be an escape from reality into the virtual world. Some are then dependent or addicted to it.

The entertainment industry will make dependent uncritical beings out of some people and earn money with it. How they know all
this ? The producers of this new virtual world, read everything that the users write in the networks and then evaluate this.
