I would use Crossover 20 only on Mojave if ever necessary or HighSierra/lower OS because 21 should not work on these... But it would be strange that this is the issue...

For the rest, I don't see any problem. Did you switch by accident the GUI view from the AG plugin to the generic one?

Tried upgrading my crossover to the latest version and it made no difference unfortunately. The plugins dont open any GUI although it shows in the audiogridder as On. Will have to try other plugins but the reason for me even trying was to workaround an unsupported Mac plugin which doesn't work this way either :(

Ok. but you didn't answer about the Generic Editor... Did you turn it on by accident? Or maybe it is its state the first time you install it. Sorry, but as you can imagine, I have no control over the settings of the AG plugin on your Mac.

In this picture, mine is off, and this is how it should be on your system too

If it was on and you turn it off, but still, you can't see the plugin, could you also turn on the "Disable tray app" entry?

This solved it.... Thank you ! I don't know if the audio dropouts are happening because of the audiogridder server or the plugin itself... It says +171ms. This is izotope insight spectrogram. It displays [despite some words/number not appearing correctly] I'll have to see if the plugin itself needs to be recracked [legacy v] or theres a setting with audiogridder ?

Note* My dock keeps jumping randomly like a app is opening and closing [without ever fully appearing] Could be because of this? Activity monitor says its a second plugintray which keeps opening and closing.

Switch the local mode in the AG server settings to choose the ones you prefer. Server must restart. I would do it when the server is not connected to the plugin to avoid port binding errors/loops.

Also, a little note if I could... This is very basic audiogridder knowledge which I believed you knew before going into the CrossGridder territory.

Also, I am only supporting legit software. This was not done to run wa*ez, like windows or mac or linux were not done for that, even if people use them on these platforms. This is opening a whole new spectrum of possibilities, especially for Linux users. And other things are cooking ...

If a plugin has a demo version, I will try it, but also consider that I can't try all the stuff by myself.

However, it is solved, thanks for trying CrossGridder.

The plugin Im testing is now legacy and cannot be purchased legitimately- otherwise I'd be using the licensed Insight 2 version I have[which is supported on Mac anyways] and would be redundant to run through this windows version.

Either way this looks to be working- Local mode was already on by default, still heavy latency. apologies for the confusion. My knowledge of this software started 2 days ago with no background into either Audiogridder/Crossgridder.

Im wondering if this is hardware limitation causing the high latency

Got it up and running on Mac. Unfortunately, the plugins I use the most don't work (probably because of OpenGL): Slate, Neural, Softube, Soundtoys, etc. So I guess i'll stick to Parallels running bootcamp.

I have the legit soundtoys bundle and it works, I was also able to validate the license through iLok for windows. Same for slate digital. This is not OpenGL limitation.

For Softube it is for sure OpenGL if it is the weiss series.

    Neural I don't know, I nerver tried.

CrossGridder is not bundled in the One Knob Series.
Please, take your time before saying something is not working.

do you happen to have a bottle that works on crossover 19? crossover 20 and 21 still have problems with creating bottles on my macbook, still no idea why
or could you describe in detail how you created the bottle?

so basically it is possible to make a huge bottle with everything installed once and save a backup as sort of snapshot and make a legacy x86 vst DX setup of past windows software for use in future mac m1 generations? thats classy

I don't believe this to be correct. Because the analyzer plugins im using are prehistoric openGL but still work via the bottle. Some plugins just dont play nice in the conversion, but id try vst3/vst and possibly getting ilok into the bottle before ruling anything else out.

Also, I have added Inno Setup Compiler, which has a built in add/remove program function. In the menu bar select tools then add/remove program. Sometimes the crossover builtin can have issues, this is why I added that one. Also, be sure to install everything inside crossgridder, don't create a new bottle from scratch.

As a side note, using CrossGridder and Parallels together is still better than using Parallels alone. The plugins that work, which are many, will have less cpu and ram usage and the latency will be half. Just change the Server ID in one and use at least 2 servers.

Remember, CrossOver works on Linux, and it works even better there, there is no OpenGL limitation, the only one is your GPU card. This has just begun, and I have a feeling that OpenGL will be fully supported during 2022.

I have already demonstrated how to use Reason and CakeWalk with CrossOver.
For what concerns stability after initial installation and setup (which might require a couple of force quit) then everything runs smooth, like they were native.

I will probably switch to linux in the very near future. It is 4 months I am not doing music and working all the time on this project. Probably whenever I will have time again, the first thing I will do is make a serious beat with linux and crossgridder and show the world it is possible to create quality with few bucks.

Well if your legit plugs work good for you. Here, the non-legit don't work.

ok so linux, cheap old dual xeon server blades are available for 100 dollar-ish readily. what would rock if we team up and create the ultimate stable ready to use discontinued legacy DX, VST x86 linux distribution all in one container. ready to mount and use in all future win/osx versions.

[TUTORIAL] Full OpenGL on MacOS (Fedora 35, VMWare Fusion, CrossGridder, CrossOver) 1st part.

Requires less resources, requires less bucks...

    Next part soon...

    Hello Heraclitus,

thanks for your tutorial. This is a great workaround method with supporting OpenGL on Mac Side.

Could we use instead of Fedora / Ubuntu ?

Don't get me wrong but we have here an Emulator in another Emulator.
First VMWare then Linux then Windows over Crossover is this really effectively?

Wouldn't it better to make everything direct in Linux only?
This would be more effectively in resources I think.
