Finally got around to installing audiogridder - really great software, I love it.

My question is, when attempting to install certain software (eg - SWAM solo strings bundle) I get a failure with the message "out of memory". This sounds like a Crossover issue or something specific to the Audiogridder bottle. Anyone have any experience with this or can offer a solution?

Part 1, Installing and trying many free VSTs and explaining some cool tricks. In the next part(s) I will also try JBridge and 32 bit VSTs, between others.

 

I got this up and running, it's great with plugins that it works with. But I keep finding that the audiogridder server is super touchy with many plugins. It either won't scan or won't load or loads and then immediately crashes for about half of the plugins I'd like to run through it.

Gullfoss, Liquidsonics and Relab plugins are quick examples of ones that it really doesn't like and refuses to run.

 

On Linux most of these will work. On macOS you have their native version. Check about Wine, Quartz, OpenGL compat etc. This is not only about plugins, it also affect videogames and apps. I am studying on a way to unlock openGL on macOS, which I have found that is possible, but please don't ask me how. I just ask you to be patient and subscribe to my channels, all this requires times and efforts.

could you help me out with Plugin EW Play 6 on Crossgridder 1,4.
On my Parallel Desktop everything is working fine but in Crossgridder the plugin works but don't show any text. This mean I can't see any presets. Maybe missing Fonts could be a problem?
I put already your downloadable Fonts in right directory but nothing worked so far.
Do you have any Ideas ?

right now im on osx 10.13.6 using crossover 19
also tried with crossover 20.0.4 and 21.1.0. in this case the audiogridder server dont gives back any error, opens up in the dock for a few seconds and then dissapears. i also dont see the wine settings tab anymore in crossover 20 and 21.

any suggestions?

 

I tried CrossOver 19 few weeks ago and it doesn't work. You need 20 or 21. Maybe 20 is better for High Sierra.

Check this video and let me know if it works.

i tried CrOv20 and 21 already. with both versions, the audiogridder server bounces 2-3 times in the dock and then disappears completely. there is no wine preloader too. its like i never opened the AG server.

 

So I will have to install High Sierra and see if I can solve it.

 

will also try again on my macbook where i have mojave installed.

 

Now that I think about it, I am quite sure that it is failing because you have other wine stuff (winebottle, winehq). Deleting them will not help, I and other had the same problem and only a fresh macOS install solved it.

 

in crossover are lot of other old bottles (keygens) and stuff. deleting them leads to errors. they seem to stay in the list. is this what you mean with other winebottles?

 

No, other apps similar to crossover. There is no other solution now, other then re-install the system. It is not my bottle, you can try to create any other bottle and install something into it to double check if actually that is the exact same issue I am talking about. If you can't open a program from a bottle created from you from scratch, sorry, that is the problem and it has nothing to do with my bottle CrossGridder. In case you can run another windows app, I will install HS to check what I can do. Thanks for your report, it helps me making CrossGridder better.

do you click "install windows application", then select the windows installer, and then at "select Bottle" do I click Crossgridder? Or windows 7 bottle

My exact steps were:
1. Import Crossgridder bottle into Crossover
2. Edit folder directory
3. Right click Install Windows App into Crossgridder [install plugin]
5. Open Audiogridder server
6. Failure error appears and click continue [some show up in the plugins in the audigridder server]
7. Open Ableton and add audio Audiogridder plugin
8. Cannot find any plugins at all but I see the server is running.

Plugins need to be installed inside the CrossGridder bottle.
If you can't see any windows plugins but the ag plugin and ag server are connected, you probably have version 1.1.1 of the AG plugin installed.

You need to match the plugin and server version: 1.2.0 beta 6

Also if you plan to use the AAX plugin, you need to fully remove version 1.1.1 of the plugin from your system, then install 1.2.0 Beta 6, as per AG developer instructions

 

I'm getting no signs of plugins inside the audiogridder fx plugin in Ableton. I see its connected to the crodssgridder server, but theres no menu to select the installed windows plugins.

 

I guess you already tried to click the + under the server name (crossgridder).

 

Actually I have got it working- for some reason in the tutorial he said to close the Auiogridder server running in the dock, so I was doing that. But if I left it there, its connecting correctly in Ableton and I see the plugins. I've added it, but can't open the plugin itself- just see the parameters on the side...

 

I received another report via email for Ableton.

The thing is that I can make it run and see the GUI, not only that, I setup the multi server configuration and I can see 2 GUIs, one x running server as per AG server limit.

As you can see from the force quit window, only Crossover 21, Live 11, the 2 wine 64 preloader (the 2 servers) and the finder are running

Could you please report your system specs (OS, CPU, GPU and the likes) and what Live version are you using?
