LOL, Roland sent this guy a JX-08 to compare to his original JX-8P.

What a legend. You got to love his honesty, lmao. I bet Roland did not expect this.
    His opinion starts at 6:00.

yeah Roland has done this quite often, see Alex Ball for example. And its good if they are critical, i mean in the end wins Roland with their cloud solution, one way or another.

Lets face it vintage hardware may sound better, but its bulky, why nevver versions or cloud versions have it better and easier integrated.

Bulky and breaks down a lot. Repairs and frustration. I have to say the prices of 80s gear have gone off the charts sky high in the recent years.
Roland cloud synths sound very good, some even better than their latest digital/hardware clones.

Yeah i ve been using their cloud stuff too, very well done with a few GUI flaws, but okay.

yeah vintage stuff is very expensive and not to mention its not to well integrated into the DAWs. (there is not much improvement, we could there i guess.)

I atleast value Roland's ability/integrity to accept positive and negative reviews. Some brands don't give out things without a guaranteed positive review.

He is a wancker purist hipster.
I have the jx8p and bought the jx-08 and the jd-08.
If you compare the presets one on one its sounds diff but with some minor tweakin the jx sounds real nice and comes real close to the orignal and even better with all the extra’s.
I run all my digi synths thru roland pa250 and i bet that espen hipster purist cant tell the difference.
399 for a synth with a two part part poly seq 20 voice with fx??
Come on that guy is full of bs showing off all his synths that most of us cant buy.

It sounds different from the original in the video, even the freebie plugin sounds morel like the original than the jx-08.

You could have made your point and expressed your POV without treating anyone you don't even know with stupid names.
Being different or having a different POV than you is not an excuse to insult a human being who have done nothing to you.
    Please correct your message.

That guy may have lost a friend in Roland, but you know he'll gain a lot of followers. I love the sound of vintage synths, but I'd also say I probably would have a tough time differentiating a well manicured (look at my fancy words) vintage-emulation and the real deal. I'm never going to sit there comparing presets or specific knob positions. Slap a bunch of effects on there and it'll sound good

That all said, I really appreciate the honesty from this guy, so that'll earn a subscribe.

Quite a bit of a difference side by side although on the whole pretty good but the PG8x is a lot closer, in most of the demos I've heard I can hear that the JX doesnt quite sound the same. If you are happy with the boutique then fine, you can still make great music with the JX08, I doubt you would create better music with the OG if you aren't making 80s music. A lot of the synths he has on his vids are borrowed and the ones he owns he paid a lot less for before it all got silly, why hold that against him?

fetepilly you can tell the diff even from a YT video. You are truly a thick person who flies money on the window with plugins. Do you even know what you are doing in general?

Hot take: If your corporation only offers subscription, no rent2own or separate full licenses to purchase then you deserve getting destroyed by pirates. Always channel my inner redneck when I see this - "They had it coming son :guru:".

    But:
True. Fuck this "culture" btw. Sycophanture, not culture, lol.
Like when people are excited about a new update or release and it brings nothing new to the table, but you can literally see the marketing talk make the customers brain go numb, ugh, fucking hate it. That's why pirated plugins are like a masked avenger for me, now all we need is "fuck you guys, it's us directing the market because we got infinite demos, now you adapt" as widespread mindset, like giving the power back to people. Look at how long plugin companies used pricing schemes for big studios even if they knew that most customers on the market are homestudio owners/hobbyists. As I said, DESERVED.
Oh and btw, holy shit if another engineer turns into a marketing channel like Mixbus or Michael White Ima :suicide:
White Sea is literally the monster he promised to fight against from like the very start with his snake oil bs.
I don't know, we need someone who is just really fucking ruthless, basically a 4chan troll reviewing plugins, that'd be new and refreshing.
    Weird tangent, I know lol.
