How much performance Logic Pro loses on M1 with Rosetta?

I'm testing the performance of my new Macbook Air M1 but I'm noticing quite a remarkable loss in terms of performance of Logic under Rosetta 2 (both logic and plugin, for the moment), with respect to my Macbook Pro 15 (intel i7, 16 GB ram).

How much faster would be Logic if I use the native M1 app and hypothetically, just M1 plugins?
How much performance it loses with Rosetta with respect to its equivalent M1 version? Does anyone tested it so far?

It's different for every plugin and app because it depends on what CPU dsp functions they are using, how well those functions are optimized for ARM, how well they're emulated in Rosetta and how well optimized the plugin is for Rosetta.

In general, expect somewhere between 15-50% improvement running native ARM. From my own use and noticing CPU drop as plugins slowly update, I'd guess an average of around 30%.

But you also get much better RAM usage and much better battery life.

Could the RAM be my limiting factor or it's more likely this is related just to the CPU? Can I get better performance with Rosetta 2 if I increase the RAM from 8 GB to 16GB, in your opinion?
I didn't notice unstableness or artifacs when I was testing the M1, just "System Overload" Logic's error occurred more often while working on heavy projects.

Thanks, I extremely need to change my workstation from 15 to 13 inches but I wish not to buy an intel mac!

none from my experience. I just like how I can throw 10 different high intensity DSP plugins on a cnannel and still track my buddy's guitar, in either rosetta or native. IF there is a diffeence, it doesnt interfere with my work flow at least. Native my scan plugins faster, thats all I hvae noticed

Have also a look how much RAM is used, In rosetta there is an extra process running

How much room do you usually use to run the program with rosetta if requires 1 GB on an equivalent intel?

There is a marked difference between the M1 chip with Audio and Video. Intel is a dinosaur in the Macoshere. I run Rosetta for some things on the M1 and it's minimal in my real-world experience, despite what people say. Native is a whole different ballgame.

never did any tests like this. When I have some spare time I will try to do so.

No, use only Apple Silicon native applications and plugins. My friend recently tested his complex VST setup on M1 and return back to Intel as on Intel he has 30-40% better performance.

On some projects 50-60% more performance on my MBP 16 M1 Max (32C 64GB 1TB, native Silicon, U-HE, Melda...). Before: MBP 16 i9 9890H. Never looked back!
