    Please someone help me!

I get so close - and always end up getting so far. I notice there is very very low EQ etc, and some sort of distortion and filter effect.

Now the question is - how is the vocal chain/what is being used to give it more presence? I find whenever I try my combinations - its either one or the other - too bassy and flat - or filtered and sibilant.

This chain seems to have found a perfect middle ground - it has a hollow, filtered sound that almost has a filter in itself to give more vocal presence.

    Help!

    King regards,
    Chris : - )

sounds like he's singing through a cardboard tube like the ones from a roll of paper towel with a mike placed near the other end not touching the end because you can hear the resonance of the tube's end. try it out you'll see I'm right, sometmes simple may sound complicated when you don't knnow how it's done. The length of the tubing will change the tone you' may have to put 2 tubes together to get the esired tonal quality. Listen to "Winchester Cathedral" a song by The New Vaudeville Band from the 60's.

Autotune and steep highpass at suitable frequency.

I would run a bandpass and saturation in parallel just to emphasize the "small speaker"/"bandpass-middyness".

Have you tried a trident like EQ shape (not the dev, the look)?

In all seriousness try Oeksound - Soothe to briefly cut certain frequencies when you need to but not take away from the weight of your vocals or Oeksound Spiff to boost them briefly in certain areas of the frequency spectrum. Don't cut too much of the lows or mids if you don't want to lose impact or weight.

Oh if you need to fill in frequencies that aren't there from the audio that is there then use an octaver or frequency shifter then low pass the super low end and see if that helps.

I thought you needed to cut or attenuate frequencies and briefly boost them in other areas so you don't loose weight. I misunderstood that you needed to patch nonexistent frequencies

I'm just beginning to learn about band and multi-band passing. Thanks for the advice. When you say parallel, can I assume you mean side chain?

Well that is what his vocals do sound like, no? It's like there are a low of low freqs. cut but he has another plugin to provide precesence/band pass that brings out some freq?

Simply put: I am looking to apply a fuller effect, here is an example where he doesn't use as much of a heavy low end.

I can achieve vocal chains like this, reverb carries it heavily and EQ/comp. The other, haven't come close!

Note: I have been wondering if there is some sort of phaser or vocoder being used? A friend suggested a flanger but after looking at the wave form of a flanger vs phaser, I would assume a phaser would be more human-like on vocal samples.
