Don't feel bad about yourself. Listen to the other tracks on this profile, especially the earlier ones, and have some self-reassurance back. Also, based on
, I say you're better at what you're doing than I'm at what I'm doing right now. So it didn't stop you.

    Do the third movement!

I'd not call it crap at all. It is, ahem, special, but manages to be entertaining.

In all honesty, I was really taken by your first track, but not the last one.
1999, you say? This shit was ahead of its time dude, WTF?

Jeezes, my first "demo" was from the first half of 1990s. I believe it was done on Cakewalk Guitar Tracks ... I remember listening to the WAV file on Digideck (with the Tsunami skin)
Yes, it was hopelessly shit. And since then things didnĀ“t improve...

On the low? No one makes music anymore, they just collect plugins and synths. You heard it here first. :chilling:
Seriously, a lot of my earliest tracks got lost on a failed HD... probably for the best. That was when I thought compressors were optional (largely because I couldn't use them properly,) and that a mixing in mono was for chumps. Yeeeah...

The world of music has changed dramatically as a result of the digital age. Today there are samples and presets and YouTube etc. Today, however, many more people can make music. You don't have to learn an instrument for 9 years to master it perfectly.

In terms of quality, it is as always - a few highlights, only a small fraction is really good and audible. It is better for young people to make bad music than to do nonsense on the street. Music is supposed to have a healing character on the human psyche.

@BEAT16 That was rather insightful, but I want to elaborate on one thing.
As a sound designer, you know that synthesis requires mastery. Along with mixing, FX, all the stuff that makes modern music different from what came before, but also along with everything that came before, like composition and artistic expression.
Widespread availability of instruments is only a good thing. But low barrier to entry doesn't mean there's nothing to master.

Everyone starts small, with luck you can find something that you are comfortable with and stick with it, if it is not fun and you have no sense of achievement, you let it be. I would say it is "trial and error" what we all do.

It's like school, some subjects are fun and some aren't. I agree with you with the entry barrier, I think the computer itself was already difficult, but we then acquired knowledge and so it went on and on.

Somehow we are also problem solvers. Even Jean Michelle Jarre, whom everyone knows, says: "I deal with a musical problem and try to solve it."" We have all come a long way with the digital world. I call that progress. There is always something to learn, but motivation is very important.

Nature is diversity and our music is also diverse. Actually, it never gets boring. But sometimes you get frustrated. As you said, composition and arrangement are not for everyone either.

Here is another one of my earlier stuff, my favourite game in my early years was Supercars 2, the title screen music blew me away. I just had to try and remake it.
Anyway this was my take at it, I'd prob been learning music and Flstudio for about maybe 9 months.

For anyone who who never heard of this game here the masterpeice music in its true form :)

Actually I don't feel bad about it, I just discovered music production by downloading FL Studio and doing it so everything was new and experimental to me, I didn't even had a reference at that time cause back then I didn't use to listen to electronic music. I was more a Linkin Park fan trying to discover how their electronic textures were made, haha

And about my first realease, I still like it, probably would change some things on it, but I think every producer would say that about their old tracks. But it bring back some good memories for me, producing was more fun back then. I didn't even knew how to create my own presets but at the same time I didn't overthink about sound design and mixing. Nowadays I tend to be too self critic, and sometimes it can really get in the way of the creative process...

Anyway... Thanks for the kind words bro. Really appreciated. :mates:

Maaan I feel you there. Sometimes it seems the more you know in music the less you actually make music.

Making this in 2012 was definitely more fun than listening to it in 2022 -

Full disclosure, I did dick about with it in 2018 a bit, but it didn't improve it, I swear.

Man, you took the words out of my mouth. That's a sad feeling sometimes and is really hard to control. But I'm happy to know that at least I'm not alone. Well, not literally, I wish you were not in this position as well, but I think you got it... haha
