I installed Kontakt on my PC and I doesn't play thru the headphone jack? The jack works for iTunes,etc but nothing for this. I'm pretty new at software so It could be something obvious but I have no clue..

 

If you're using onboard sound card, install ASIO4ALL first. Then you can select headphone jack for output.
Also note that multiple apps cannot use ASIO4ALL simultaneously, one app lock the entire WDM driver for its use.

 

What he said, but also are you using the stand-alone program or kontakt as a vst? If your using the stand-alone you MUST use ASIO, like Asio4All. Unofortunately Asio doesn't always work very well for onboard cards and is ment for external audio devices

For vsti the setup is the same, but selected in your DAW audio settings

when first using asio driver you may need to adjust its latency setting, to prevent a delay from the time you press a key to make a sound and the time the computer plays back that sound, click the config button and adjust latency (buffer size)
