    Hi!
I would like someone to help me out.
I'm transfering a Vinyl (in Stereo) but the left side is clipping on the recording.
If I change to Mono it's all good, because the Right side is OK.
Is there any plugin I could use to attenuate this harsh sound?

Thanks a lot for your help

You first need to make sure that the input signal is set correctly or not set to max on the input volume controls.

Thanks. Yes all the volumes are ok and no Gain on the input. I think it's actual the recording.
Also, changed the cables and same result.

Use Thimeo Stereo Tool, Declipper module.
Copy the clipped channel to a new mono file, process it, and then paste it back to its place in the stereo file. Depending on degree of clipping you may have to utilize two passes.
Or you can process the whole stereo file, to make the sound timbre even on both channels or if you get stereo offset. Test what suits you better.
    ----------
P.S. Go to Configuration/Operating mode/'Expert'. Check thoroughly the numerous settings of Declipper module submenus first.
Declipping gives better results if applied on reversed file,

I'm afraid that your recording level is too hot...make sure that you're not clipping at anytime while transfering to digital.

Then, if you have an unbalanced stereo and/or dirty material, you can clean it and rebalance it using Izotope RX

THanks. Didn't know about that Thimeo.

@tchouangtseu I'm absolutely sure the volumes are ok and no clipping exists.

Ok so as @pratyahara suggests, try de-clip the channel that requires it. Izotope RX is still available on sister site so you can give it a try

    Yes, it is.
The keygen for standalone v9.83 posted on sister site works also for VSTs. Download the VST from Thimeo site and then use the keygen.

I would chop a small portion of the file and upload it so people aren't guessing.

Did you use an Ortofon cartridge and an older Technics? The plating on the Contacts wears and almost always results in this symptom. You can clean the contacts and sometimes that will work. A drop of isopropyl alcohol on the Ortofon contact will make better "contact" and temporarily "fix it" if that is the case. (until it evaporates)

I tried RX but it doesn't recognize the clipping.
    I'll try the Thimeo vst.
    Thanks everyone

    Just a follow up...
I actually connected the Vinyl tabletop to the Mic/Line on the RME. I should have plugged it to the Line inputs in the back.
    Everything is perfect now..
I apologize for being the dumbest audio geek wannabe around.
Thank you all for your pacience.
