Wish they offered a normal DEMO period instead of silence, noise or a nag screen very 30 seconds or so.
    Looks promising...

They're both not very good though. Check out BB N105 v2. Best ITB channel strip to date.

Plugin Alliance mostly sell plugins of other companies, like a virtual warehouse.
    NoiseAsh Audio actually make plugins.
So really, NoiseAsh are the only ones with "modeling technology" out of the two here. :dunno:

Last time I've seen a competition like this was when I took a dump and a piss and then looked into the toilet.

Partly correct. They do more than sell product. They curate & facilitate the development of software products from a diverse group of international companies. The TMT technology from Brainworx, is available across their product line. Thus the Plugin Alliance designation in the title of this thread.

    About the Alliance

Some more food for thought concerning DSP from Barry Johns (came across this while waiting for coffee to brew).

Avid and UAD - DSP Is Dead!

For good reason. If either Noiseash or Brainwoex perfects the Neve emulation process, think of what what mean for the ability to run native plugins efficiently. Also, proprietary DSP technology would be more of an option than a requirement.

Their "proprietary DSP"amounts to nothing more than unlinked stereo processing. saying crosstalk is a huge part of the "sound"of analog is like saying salt and pepper are the most important elements of a dish. i'm not saying you have said that, but a lot of DSP developers have jumped on this band wagon and are rinsing it in the marketing for all its worth

They may have gave it a technical jargon term, but a spade is a spade. i've used a few fully fledged consoles in my life and still use a fair bit of outboard being hybrid and crosstalk and differences in left and right in the circuit are not a giant part of that sound.

Few people have already pointed out in the usual plugin hangouts that in regards to the NoiseAsh models that the preamp THD is way off from being fundamentally anything like that of any Neve preamp section

Eh tbh, never been a Neve person. Plus I'm currently ditching all emulations and going full digital

The point of DSP has always been to offload processing to another source freeing up resources for the main workstation. Same idea as Vienna Ensemble Pro. Using an external device clocked to the main computer for DSP processing. The benefit of hardware emulation is an added feature.

There are units that offer nothing but digital processing. MOTU comes to mind as one example. Another going way back would be TC electronic along with Digidesign.

You're not for Neve. I'm not for API. Do like SSL as well though.

Oh, i misunderstood probably one to many drinks. i read it as them being able to copy the propietary DSP algorithms of Brainworx "TMT"tech. neither of these are competing with UAD IMO, so i wont be parting with my Octo Satellite's anytime soon

Tried the NoiseAsh and it doesn't offer me anything personally that bread and butter digital processing already offers. cause that is all they are really. generic DSP algorithms behind skeuomporphic GUI's

Yeah i wonder if there is a plugin named plugin alliance bla bla plugin?
The idea when plugin alliance started as i remember it was to let a couple of plugin makers go togheter and sell plugin on the same webshop i think they said it was to cut prices (which they really didnt do anyway) and of course try to fight piracy "which was their primary goal" and it was a war they lost of course

Dirk Ulrich owns Brainworx which could been seen as PA's inhouse plugin development company. Blackbox was coded by Brainworx engineers for instance as well along with providing the algos behind the Elysia models as well

The SSL consoles are also Brainworx.

...and the coders for most the best selling PA plugins is now at the Fuse Audio. Forgot his name, but the guy still taking outsourced work for Neold and elysia. The amount of respect he is having at a certain forum is enormous, that people will "buy then try" his plugin everytime he released a new one, plus he is selling them cheaper compared to PA.

    EDIT:
    upload_2021-12-26_20-27-47.png

about the topic, I read quite a lot of review saying NoiseAsh 1st Neve emulation preamp sounds nothing like a Neve, but I quite like it. I never use that particular console and have no idea of its sound anyway.
