Genuine question, how exactly is this messy? You just drag and drop anything anywhere (plugins, routes, the mixer, the tracks, etc). Not going all DAW wars here (cuz thats stupid), don't get me wrong, I'm just genuinely curious.

Making music is the most important thing, who really cares which DAW you're using ? Use the one that suits you well. As simple as that !

You people can say what you want, but different daws have a different sound.I recorded the same track on pro tools and studio one , same settings, and the sound changes. Even the same file changes when it s imported on a daw or another.Maybe you notice it less with virtual isntruments but with actual instruments it s more than evident

Like a few of you I've been using Cubase, and before that Pro 12/24, on Atari ST.
To me it's like a first language. You can learn others but it's your native one is always home. Don't really like how cluttered the interface has become over the years mind you, but hey ho.

All power to you, whatever DAW you use!

I don t care about the video, i care about what I hear. And if I listen to the same track made with a guitar and a microphone the sound is different.Same position, same neutral settings, no plugins, it sounds different. It sounds different if i record the same thing on a daw and then on another, it sounds different if i listen to the same track imported on different daws.We can spend countless hours talking about it and I will always tell you the same thing, because it is so.

There's no better DAW. Every DAW has its strengths and weaknesses. The DAW which I mainly use is Ableton Live 11 which is extremely user friendly and intuitive, but I also use Studio One and Reaper sometimes. I tried Cubase before and it's also nice. I will have to say that performance wise Reaper is the best out of all of the DAWS that I personally tried. Fastest loading, most stable and most lightweight. But I don't like its UI at all. If it was more organized, I would do the switch from Ableton permanently. I even used many different customized themes but meh... For sure you can spend time and learn it well, but I just infinitely prefer Ableton Live 11 workflow wise, cause that's the first DAW that I started with and I immediately fell in love with it and I just really prefer the workflow there over other DAWS. Well the other big advantage of Reaper is that you can program your own scripts and it's highly customizable. Its vst search function isn't the best though, but at least it supports 32bit vsts. Some vsts that are recognized by Ableton immediately, for some reason Reaper doesn't pick them. Not sure why, didn't bother to investigate yet...

Even with the same Pan Law Settings on every DAW? Well if you happen to find any time, I would be very interested to hear a non rigged comparison between 3 or more different DAWS of your choice with exactly the same settings everywhere. You can use a ready audio file or record anything you want in a DAW of your choice, then do some amount of processing it however you want and export it one time each on each DAW. Or we can ask someone else to do a video on it showing the exact same settings on every DAW.

For midi cubase is better, but reaper is a lightning fast, lightweight for audio. I prefer reaper.

You can simply record an audio track and check on your own.And yes, with the same pan settings as well, the timbre changes

Reaper is like 400$ cheaper than Cubase. This alone would make it not worth dealing with Steinberg. I can figure out some way to do Midi with a PC and make Reaper work if those were my options. But I prefer Cubase because I have hundreds, if not thousands; of hours working in it over many years.

I would also trade none of them for Logic. :)

Cubase is limited to 6ch. You need to pay $1000? to upgrade to Nuendo to remove that limit.

REAPER has 64ch mixing just for $100-200.

Nope. I can null PT, Reaper, Cubase, and Logic perfectly. It's a matter of settings.

NO, the very moment you adjust the settings on every daw to make the track sound the same ,it means they don t sound the same.I trust my ears if you don t mind

This null test has been done SO MANY TIMES, man, you're giving yourself too much credit (we overlook things sometimes, trust me, I'm an overlooking expert). Unless you're comparing with Harrison Mixbus.

If I paid 450dollars more for similar thing as the one you own, I don't think I am capable of saying yours are better than mine. Nobody does. This thread belongs to the humor section. Move on people.

I personally have no experience with Cubase, but looking at images from google, the DAW itself kind of looks ugly, but that's just a first impression, I could totally be wrong. I started from FL studio in the beginning then switched to REAPER then I tried Ableton, didn't like it, went back to REAPER and im still in REAPER. For me everything is just perfect in reaper, and I'm not planning to switch. Plus you can customize it however you want. I know the default theme of REAPER is just lacking and ugly as hell, but if you get some really nice themes to download, and then later customize those colors and everything, its just perfect. You can even customize the layout how you want it to, put your mixer here and there, put your other stuff here, its very cool.

Thats all I have to say :)

A few days ago I had to change my basses strings and fuck it, I used to use mostly d'addario ones but all of a sudden I have decided I would use DR ones and guess what ? it is exactly the same cause the sound comes from fingers, not from the strings. It is exactly the same with DAW's...
