You think positively, that's very good. You should know what you are best at or, in other words, where is my talent and if I know you can encourage it. Most of the time, you don't even know where you're going. Hence the phrase the way is the goal. So you live more intensely and don't work on a goal, because what happens when you have reached the goal, does it go on or then the inner emptiness comes. I think there is sometimes a standstill, sometimes things go well, sometimes not so well, just like the weather, like life itself.

I suffer from severe depression, brought on by self-doubt, but music is my main therapy, the issue is self-doubt is still there, not to the same extent, but it is in my head a little. Thankfully, the benefits outweighs the negatives, and with music it doesn’t take much to reassure me.

Many people are depressed and / or overwhelmed. It's really just about trying to change or improve something. A lot takes place in the head and if we don't manage to get out of it, we should try to deal with it better.

There is one sentence: one should stop thinking about oneself harm, one should also allow excessive dramatization.

    Tai chi is very good.

CBT has been a big help to me for the past 15 or so years, it’s a superb set of tools but does require constant vigilance about your mental health and they are easy to forget if you go into a tailspin in a very short space of time and you haven’t the time to implement them. I am extremely vigilant, and the techniques learned in CBT are what I use to rebuild if I do go down like that.

I think I may try Tai Chi, I meditate but maybe that will help more. Thank you!

@RitchieM, you are a very nice person to talk to and in our fast-moving times, human relationships are sometimes drowned out.
You are doing something about it - that is highly creditable. It's great that we stick together here and exchange ideas.

Yep, they really are. Sadly there is an increase in mental health issues, and I subscribe to the theory that much of this is now coming from the fact that the technology “improvements” and the amount of info coming our way, we haven’t evolved psychologically to keep up, and it is leading to issue. We all should take the time, switch phones and screens off, and just get back in touch with ourselves.

    Yes I agree with you.

Actually, more technology should mean that we work less and have more time for ourselves and our fellow human beings.
Now the robots are coming and will do the heavy lifting for us. Then there is the virus and unfortunately most react
with fear and fear is a bad advisor. Fear narrows the consciousness.

As you said, people should better understand the Internet and what smartphones do and how to use the new devices properly.
Maybe a question of intelligence. If you want to drive a car you have to get a driver's license.
Many people are either under-challenged or overwhelmed, and that means stress and stress makes you sick.
On the other hand, you shouldn't eat pills, but analyze the problem and then solve the problem.
