you cant download anything over 500 now, ridiculous. its greedy and look I know it's warez, no one needs reminding

 

Was just reading another thread here about DMCA takedowns. Interesting to consider the relationship between mirrors and locking out alternative links on 'sister site', and DMCA-related removals. Clearly, slow links and lack of alternative, faster links will greatly slow the spread of a file, which then (perhaps unintentionally) supports the DMCA takedown since a file disappears before many have had the chance to grab it. Alternative links and/or faster links would have made that much less of an issue since more people could download a file before its taken down. End result, 'sister site' is accomplishing exactly what sharing files wasn't supposed to be about; stopping sharing instead of supporting it! Put a little differently, locking threads with super-slow links only helps the DMCA and uploaders! How nutty a system is that???

 

Believe me, I know how sister site is working. Resident since 2012.
The problem is, that things will not be reupped. OK, I really appreciate the work of Oly and Pirat, but it would be much easier to remove the "no mirrors" after a specific time. There are lots of users who would make mirrors (as you can see at the V.R. releases). And when it comes to the point of the affiliate-money. Deleted files dont generate a cent so its completely all the same for the original poster. He earned his money within the first few days...but only as long as the links are alive.

 

Or just use additional repair files for such big downloads like in the good old Usenet days. That way it won't matter which part-file is broken. The repair files will work for all of them if they have at least the same file size as the broken part-file. Just put 3-4 of them as an extra to the download.

 

Allowing mirrors and when to do so, is a poster's decision.
Also, look at older posts with mirrors allowed, you will see that mirrors are dead, and mirror guys never reup. Original posters are more often reuping than mirror men...

 

Yes of cause. And its also OK to do so, but why not removing the mirror-block after a while? As you can see at the recent UVI Falcon releases. They are all gone within 1 day. No chance to download for free users. Also HOFA Plugins..gone since 4 weeks now. Maybe we should do another voting for our favourite hosters, as the last voting is from 2013. BTW..I think its not clever to make a poll that includes the actual primary hoster..as most users have an account at uploaded and none of them would vote objectivly for a new one as long as their already payed VIP-membership lasts! So its clear that the winner of the poll will be again uploaded..despite it has a lot of disadvantages. Times have changed till 2013. Uploaded is really fast in deleting stuff, same as rapidgator. I would prefer a MEGA or clicknupload link has to be added on day 3 after the initial release and after a week mirrors are automatically allowed. The original poster will have earned his money in the first 2 days. And after files have been deleted he doesnt get anything. So, were is the problem.

From my experience, they always are. Eventually.
So if we take my experience into consideration, this reason you state is moot. That's the problem I see.
The mirrors argument is a good one, but not when just based on you saying that Oly and PiRAT won't reup.

If an uploader has actually paid for something and shared it?
Those pennies won't ever cover the cost of a Kontakt library. Even a cheap one!

The uploaders decide what filehosters to use and if it's possible to post mirrors.
Some of them want to make money. Using UL/RGator and not allowing mirrors seems the best for that.
It's not ideal but they also risk a bit their asses.
And most important: happens in almost every DDownload site.

Maybe if you only count the money for downloads that might be correct. But if someone decides to make a premium account because of your post, you will get 5$ for each. I was really surprised when i watched my uploaded balance last week. Suddenly it jumped for 5$ and I had no idea why. Watching the detailed statistics I saw, that someone made a premium account because of a post I've made. This can be very lucrative.

 

Ohhhhh...Yes, I was only vaguely aware of that sort of thing when I created my accounts for uploading at the sister site, but I was just focused on sharing and didn't really imagine I could profit from it at all.

Having an uploaded prem account is not very satisfying nowadays,
due to its irritating behaviour lately.
On top of that, and the mirror/no mirror problems, i get those messages
more and more often (since a week or so), instead of a dl-link:



I'm on premium and do have over 300 gb left, but i get these obviously
wrong infos.

Anyone else ever experienced that?
Any solution?

 

No one else with similar problems?
By now, i get such a BS message 6 out of ten times i click on an uploaded link.
So it's nearly impossible for me to download any bigger file, although being a premium user.

Oh, and big thanks to hidera for not only allowing mirrors, bur even providing one.
That helped me a lot.

Since i don't know how to solve it, i just changed to realdebrid.
Working good so far.
Strangely enough, the ul-links that gave me the strange message before are now working inside jdownloader without a problem.
Well, whatever.

 

I had downloaded 4 parts of the recent UVI Asteroid drum impacts instrument then all of a sudden it was down. Short lived download links are maybe due to DMCA take down orders copywrite issues. I'll vote for Rapidgator the last 2 or 3 times I've used their premium subscription membership I had no problems with downloads they were always super super fast speed, RG links last a lot longer than other file hosters such as Nitroflare, or Uploaded. There is always a solution to dead links for example there are members on the sister site who post almost every release on another site I use a lot, don't know if I'm allowed to name it though I'll give a little hint it's already on the sister site if you look for it. Initials of the site are SA. I know it's not right to share links of uploaders hard work on other sites I do not like that though unfortunately is rife on the internet. I especially do not like how uploaders on the other site I mention make money from Freeware, Opensource widely available software. It makes me angry. I know it's not right downloading illegal software full stop though cracked releases especially from trusted groups such as R2R and the excellent Sister site of this awesome sexy audio forum is all you need. I appreciate everything you guys and girls have done over the many years I've used the Sister Site. I'm new here though I've been around for years glad I decided to join the discussions on here, help out and be part of the community and hopefully maybe even make friendships with a few of you who share the same interests we're all here I hope to help each other and learn from each other that's what this place is all about.

even smarter: do not pay for ul account ever. for less than half the price, you can get premium ul, rg, and dozens of other hosters on real-debrid.

 

Can you send me a list of supported hosters? I would like to see them BEFORE registering for an account.

 

But watch out too for links that won't work via a debrid software, and will only work by going direct to the the UL or RG link.
Seems to be mentioned a bit over at the sister site recently.
