Anybody try the SSL Native X-Comp? I'm wondering if it's worth it for $20? the last thing I need is a new plugin, but this seems like a good bargain.

If you are using a microphone it has a few vocal presets they are amazing for me the best is Male Voice I select that
Than playing with the Gain Reduction you can set a treshold to filter out your mouse and keyboard clix and noises
It is awesome basically you filter out the background noises you don't want to "broadcast" or to your game voice chat

 

For this pirce take it and dont talk It's good on vocals. One thing missing is Dry/wet... It's a software right...?!

That’s a good deal, but it seems that isn’t emulating a particular SSL compressor, rather than some characteristics of well know comps

 

that's what I was thinking.TrackComp2 already does an exemplary job of that.

I bought it a while ago. My only gripe with it is that you can't externally side chain with it.

Yes worth 20 but customer support sucks. I wanted to download for a reinstall but the downlod doesn’t appear in my account. Emailed support and no response. I found a distant installer on my drives somewhere but not recent patch updated installer from ssl…

After consideration, I"m going to give this one a hard pass - no sidechain or mix blend function is unacceptable on a software comp no matter how cheap. I'll save my $20 for the next inevitable plugin flash sale.

 

why not just download the software from the SSL Page directly?

You should really try it first, and extensively. I love some of those SSL Native plugins, but their compressors are really weird and nothing like other SSL compressor plugins.
