By the way, Waveframe never appeared on the sister site, until now
Although they are some of the most used in TV industry,
in my opinion, SBS channel still uses them and video cassettes ...:"DDD
(I hear it on new TV shows every time)

When I first downloaded it and just played with the factory presets for an hour or so, I also couldn't see what all the fuss was about. "It's just another rompler", I thought. "No big deal." It's too complex to use as an actual synth.

Since then, I've had the opportunity to play with it a little longer -- and to play with some of the other sound banks. And now I'm genuinely impressed.

What you get -- with many of the sound banks --- is some really high quality sound design, that's fairly easy to tweak in order to make the sounds your own. If you were a professional, making music for film or video games, I think it would be absolutely indespensable. If you're making dance music and you want to create distinctive and really cool FX, I haven't found a better tool for the job.

Could I spend a day using dozens of plug-ins to design that cool riser or impact myself? Sure. I'm not confident that it'd sound as polished, but it'd get me somewhere close. But UVI Falcon lets me do it in 15 minutes -- and it sounds fantastic.

So I've changed my mind. I don't use Nexus 3. I don't use Avenger. I don't use Omnisphere. But I can see Falcon sticking around on my hard drive for a while.

I completely agree with your first point unfortunately. I just don't know if it's even possible to emulate certain instruments or vocals for that matter. Natural, acoustic sources are far too complex to be replicated but who knows if that will change in the future. Tech is always getting so advanced it's scary.

Electronic waveforms are more basic in comparison to real ones from instruments that have unique textures and are more unpredictable so that's probably why it's harder to emulate. To me personally, it's harder to treat real instruments than synths that are far more clinical.

It's interesting if you watch some videos on how digital 'connects the dots' in varied waveforms and why different frequencies do different things and can bring almost hidden sounds up.
It is completely feasible to sample 'some' human phrases.
Someone posted where does sampling end and plagiarism begin? There is merit in that. I play an instrument and have witnessed the change from analog to digital so I understand both points of view. I will still always choose a real musician that can play over a sample unless there are time and location constraints. Your first comment was hilarious  Once in a while someone presses the wrong buttons so that's on me.

Yeah like FM Synthesis which is like an Advent Calendar that Forrest Gump has to open after every oscillator and the output never knows what it's gonna get.

Well sampling would be taking a copy of a natural waveform whereas modeling is using technology to replicate a natural sound source. But I think there is a lot of bridge gapping inbetween both to get modelers to sound like real instruments. Samplers are like cameras but modelers are like AI. Falcon is like all of those things in one habitat, if anything Falcon is trying to be a DAW more than anything else.

So it's funny when people make comments about something that hosts multiple things under the hood like Sonic the hedgehog's car-plane-boat-mobile. Those people remind me of people who eat their wings like this so they never got the most out of it and didn't know why.

Yeah and people who suck on tones never make negative comments about music tools they didn't know how to make useful.

That's like trying to fit a triangle block into a square hole and then giving your 1st grade teacher the middle finger because she got the assignment all fucked up right now.

I didn't bother to instal Falcon so far. I'm not saying it's bad (as I didn't even try it). The thing is... this kind of instrument relays heavily on libraries. So they sell severely inflated libraries, like e.g. "OB Legacy" - 16 GB! And it costs 199 euros! For that amount of money (as mentioned in a comment on sister site) we could buy U-he Diva + a really great sounding Swan Audio preset pack like "Classic OB" or "Modern OB". That would sound far more realistic, would allow you to adjust any parameter, behave like a real OB synth, and - last but not least - would not take bloody 16 GB! Or for half the price of that single UVI library one could buy simply the Synapse Obsession.

None of the UVI libraries posted so far on sister site convinced me to try it. For me there is no point to use such an instrument nowadays. I would praise it 15 years ago.

Better to have a piece of "Real Recorded Analogue"
Than having a bunch of stuff that means being "Like"

But you may not understand this
you need to know the math for that....)

The "piece of real recorded analogue" (in the form of a sampler library) does not BEHAVE like an analog synth. Been there, tried that many times for several decades, so don't make me laugh. :) A single sample may sound super-true, but the resulting program will not (in many cases) sound like the original synth, because it uses different architecture (env shapes, filter characteristics, modulation, portamento etc.). The "piece of real recorded analogue" may be sufficent in simple cases, but I would not pay eur199 and waste 16 GB on disk for "simple cases".

100% agree. The sounds are pretty blah, the libraries are HUGE, especially when you consider all they synths on offer have emulated equivalents with smaller memory and hard drive requirements.

Yes! You're right !, it's pretty simplistic. (Because you get some of the randomness)
But only because you are using it to write low quality electronic music.
If you are using a studio with external processing, you will be clear!
(But even if this part of the analogue, you may be enough to understand how much better it is than that muddy porridge that creeps out after the particle board processing called "Saturation" and so on)
(There is no ground for discussion, these are clear facts)

Unfortunately, there are a lot of factors related to the quality of processing. In general, everything can sound quite good, someone does not say what to do.

I liken that to the differences and similarities between a Porsche and a Volkswagen beetle. You can swap motors and they both fit into the other, but why would you?

Well they sample some rare synths that dont have emulated equivalents, PX V8 is a great synth, love the U1250, the UVX670 is also pretty good...

Dude, just because they record some sample with a real instrument, doesn't make them great. Hell, just because you own a Strat, doesn't make you any good. Fact is there truly is no justification for the bloated prices on Libraries for a hybrid synth/app/program/DAW whatever that does a bunch of stuff, all very limited. LOL These libraries fall into the theme that is UVI expensive and covers a lot of bases with average and limited performance. These libraries are utter garbage. I know, I bought this junk awhile back, then sold it and got rid of. I can name soooo many different Synths, apps, programs and DAWs. All that are cheaper and focus at being the best at what they focus on, not just okay at a 100 different things

I agree that the price tag is too high and that this is all very inflated
Kept a few things for myself including DrumDesigner.

But libraries have their good side!
In addition, the speech is about a multi-product.
Take a look at the best features
Before looking for something bad ...

At the very least, you get a highly optimized and accurate product.
with a powerful arsenal for sound design and sampling.
But you can save disk space - then do not download, you were warned,
Also you were given it for free for your reference!

just out of respect, this topic has no further discussion.

    Take care of creativity!
