This comparison is utter nonsense. No that's not true and it's a lie. Falcon has market prices and is well worth the money. A math problem for you: Imagine working on a synthesizer for 5 years. How many hours of work did you invest? What is your hourly wage? How expensive would the end product have to be?

The Uvi Falcon costs: € 349.
- 4 years of developer time with a 5 day week.
- So that's 4 x 255 working days = 1020 working days / - 1022 x € 15 hourly wage = € 15300
- How many Falcon VSTi do you have to sell so that you have the costs out? - 15300 €: 349 € = about 430 pieces
- This invoice only includes labor costs and not server costs, designer costs, etc.

And want some examples of Omnispere "more complex synth functionality", because I see the opposite. Just prove your words. Don't get me wrong I'm not against Omni. Omnispere is good, sounds good, nice to use but "more complex"? Hardly.

R2R can also bring you all the native UADs, you will manage to discredit even the UADs for how scarce you are

Personally, for example, I don't play Nexus and Kontakt. I bought the Vengeance - Avenger and the UVI Falcon.

Yep I totally understand the reason for the size difference - sampled audio will always be bigger than a patch file.
My question was more how do these sampled patches compare with the massive collection of patches available for FM8 and DX7 V?
If they are just samples of patches then you may just have an alternate format of extremely similar sounds. But as you suggest, some people may prefer the sound of the original synth sampled to the modelled one. Each to their own.

 

This comparison is the same to how many hours you mixed a song, 10 hours or 10 months.
It doesnt matter to the listener.
Its the same with vst plugins and instruments, people only care about the end product and what it can do.
If they spent 10k hours on coding is irrelevant.

 

Put in the work, results & knowledge will follow. Some things have to be experienced by actually doing to know the differences & similarities. You can sky dive at 12,000 feet but, what is the difference doing so at 30, 000 feet?

 

Pro & cons is what daily life has us weigh the moment we open our eyes each day.

 

World 2 looks pretty varied, cohesive, and thus could be useful..

But judging by Jordan's demo, and in terms of Realism,
I don't think it can stand up against proper Kontakt libraries like Ethno World.. or thousand other.

It's cohesive and has some low end, but it sounds quite Digital/Synthy,
with softened highs, plastic attack.. and the notes don't really link too smoothly..

Ofc EthnoWorld is not perfect, but at least in terms of Realism it delivers,
instruments sound as acoustically/timbrically as realist as they can be, and that has its pros/cons..

But if you're working on Soundtracks, or Acoustic music that's exactly what you want,
what's the point in doing an Acoustic/World track with say Arabic/Eastern influences (as in the example),
if the instruments sound Digital and soft?

If the sounds are cohesive/well adjusted, you could save time,
but for the best/most Realist end result, Kontakt libraries would be much more adequate..

(Not talking about the Synth/Rompler/FX side of Falcon ofc, where it could shine..)


Otoh VHorns seems like a Great and very Realist library, and it's up there with the best like,
Sample Modeling, Chris Hein, Embertone.. etc. (we're talking Jazz solo brass)

In part I guess due to Falcon's synthesis capacities, the quality of sampling/modelling..
and in part because every Solo Brass library has a unique and different sound/mood,
so they could fit one track/other regardless of quality..

Again this stands as one of the Best to me tho,
maybe not as good for an Ensemble situation (NI Session Horns is hard to beat),
but for Solo it's no doubt a very competitive offer..

Totally correct, unfortunately. Or EastWest for that matter.

However, some of the keyboard emulations are simply excellent. Best B3 Ive ever heard.
