Why is it called Black Friday ?

There are a few reasons why the shopping event is called ‘Black Friday’, with some a little more grim than others.

It’s said the moniker was first coined in 1869, when Jim Fisk and Jay Gould, two Wall Street financiers, bought a huge amount of gold in the hope of its price surging. Instead, the opposite happened, the gold market slumped dramatically and many Wall Street barons were left bankrupt. When did this occur? You guessed it, it was Friday September 24 1869, making it ‘Black Friday’.

Years later, the phrase Black Friday re-emerged and tied itself to the post-Thanksgiving shopping day. In Philadelphia in the 1950s, legions of shoppers and tourists flooded into the city the Friday after Thanksgiving to watch the Army-Navy football game. It’s said the ensuing mix of shoplifters, violent crowds and huge traffic jams spurred the police department on to call it Black Friday.

More positively, Black Friday is said to represent a company’s revenue moving out of the red and into the black – or profit.

Either way, Black Friday has transcended its origins and by the late 1980s, had become synonymous with shopping, big sales and huge discounts.

Does Japan celebrates black friday? I know that most Asia does not celebrates it. I know it's a big thing in USA.

What I need most have already been released and updated regularly (Fabfilter, DMG Audio, ValhallaDSP, u-he, Synapse Audio etc). I am excited to see releases like Reason (Never downloaded it btw), what's not been cracked before.

alright I'm gonna ask what may be obvious to others. Who are you though? From what I tried to decipher in the last weeks following this thread, something between a contacts person but probably not a member of R2R? It may actually come from me also not being a native speaker and so not understanding 15% of the stuff written in here from not native speakers (a synergetic effect :D)

It's pretty worldwide it seems, I mean Japan doesn't celebrate Christmas technically (low Christian percentage) but somehow it's still a thing there (they also eat KFC on Christmas day and you have to order your buckets months ahead)

 

Well don't take me wrong, I am grateful for all the things Team R2R have done by now, but sometimes i ask myself, why they never released soft elicenser stuff like keygen because i think that was an very easy task to do for them as very experienced team.
