All Aqua products have a low-frequency ripple due to miscalculation.
This is not the case when using long kernels in N4, aqua is slightly simplified.

The manufacturer can correct these nuances. but take your time.

 

i would say that is resonable. in my experience most of the service requests on purchased products were replied to with scorn and in some cases flat out accusation. it doesnt mean i stop paying developers for their work, but definitely means i stop turning to them for solutions.

what Giancarlo desribes as a good thing,

Thank you for being here and for engaging with the users here, much appreciated.

Just as personal feedback, I've been very interested in your software since they get very enthusiastic reviews wherever I look. However I've felt hesitant to buy them because there is no cracked version available, and because I've read some bad posts about the DRM and the download manager. For me personally I would be glad to see a cracked version because it would make me feel comfortable in buying your stuff. I even passed on the freebies because of this reason. That and the CPU consumption (my computer is a bit dated by now).

I believe you are at least worthy of support and I appreciate your engagement with your critics. I can't say the same for all developers, some of whom I perceive as very arrogant and downright hostile, even toward their own customers.

Oh and I own a legit License for Winrar, too You're not alone.
Keep it up and good luck for the future development of your plugins!

The ripple in the low frequencies almost doesn't exist anymore in the latest versions, and it doesn't depend on the hilbert transform, which we don't use in samples, it is used in some exceptional cases, related to the design. It depends on the fade window. Kernels are shortened to make the product lighter and can create a slight ripple. I see this very rarely lately, and usually we simply lengthen the kernel. In any case, it's completely impossible to hear it: not all things that can be visualized in a spectrum analyzer are also obvious to the ear. However as I said, I see it very rarely.
Instead, there are much more visible things that we will correct that have a very big impact, for example the filters used in rate conversion, and that trivially has a major impact on phase. It's part of a release process that's going to cover 2022.

Your reasoning is correct.
Unfortunately, the result doesn't always go in the direction you described and it depends on the size of the userbase.
We, as usual, do some things against the current, in spite of the suggestions we are given, because this is what happens: everyone knows his situation and knows what he can and cannot do. At the moment our download manager assumes the presence of legitimate copies, and this is reflected in the eventual support we give accordingly.
The model you say goes much better in the presence of a different business model, like subscription. In that case you'd be right, advertising encourages the transition of user to customer.
We simply communicated what happened and what can happen.
Knowing this helps people do the best thing for their needs.
Of course, many things could change: we could change strategy, or change business model and so on.
For now, it's good to know the current one, and how it works.

I use N4 solely with TimP and AlexB libs, because to me they are sonically superior to -every- Acqua I trialled (which is all of them). How do you feel about TimP and AlexB and what is the future of N4? Do you understand there is major skepticism from your N4 userbase about its future?

- when using a bunch of plugins, we see obvious problems with the signal frequency,
(I mainly say about CPU load)

- Also ripple problem - this is obvious even for a simple user, but fixable!
Here you can speak honestly, I will support you because I understand you at all levels, BUT, I am watching carefully!
(I'm not talking about the fact that everything is wrong, VVKT is good as it is)

- Hilbert shifter is only used in a couple of plugins (In Pensado 1&2 incl), but still needs fix"it!

You can opt out of FFT by replacing it with optimized Linear Phase Filters.
Also use the Hillbt + Ladder Filter to create a soft saturation effect, which is more CPU frendly)
If you use real-time math (Similar to Peavey Revalver), you can discover a whole world with better quality including work above 0db

For compression it is also better to have a Spectral EC engine, without using VVKT samples...
