Reaper Daw- So if i save a project normally.. (with or without any audio) to be reused later on

isnt' that a project template too?

i don't understand how project templates differ

i can just open a saved project that has all i need to start with...isn't that what a project template is? is there any difference?

When you save a template with all the items and media clips it's pretty much the same. But its purpose is to save it without them, so you have a basic layout for a new project.

yes but i mean you can also save a project (not a template) without any items and media clips

the only difference i think is that the project template asks you if you want to save it each time before saving it

but other than that i don't see any difference

Funnily, as I just found out, project templates are saved as *.RPP files which is the exact same as a normal project file. So content-wise there really doesn't seem to be a difference.
