when both the Red and Green sliders are on 100% right...why do i still hear some signal on the left? (this happens and the other way around)

this happens for both mono and stereo tracks

:woot: You mean with the dry source??? Doesn't happen here and shouldn't happen (neither with mono nor with stereo tracks).
What are the channel meters showing?

hey No Avenger can you test with earphones please?

because i tested on another track too right now and it still happens, even though the signal on the metering shows all on one side

i can hear that on the left earphone a bit

I could but what for? Neither the channel meters, nor the Master meter or my soundcard is showing any level for the left side. And I couldn't hear anything on the left with my monitors either.
Either your hardware is broken, or you made a mistake. One thing is for sure, this just can't happen in a correct setup.

If you hard pan a mono or stereo source to one side, there should be no sound on the opposite side.
This is true for standard pan (balance), & dual pan.

    What is you audio device?
Have you checked the cable(s) with a multi-meter for cross connection?

    earphones connect straight to laptop

i'll double check with another pair headphones

    damn the headphones work ok....

don't know whats wrong with my earphones...paid 50 bucks for them also...anyway too much fuss to figure why earphones do that as headphones are ok

    thanks guys!

    Best Answer
Are the earphones/buds normal TRS/Stereo (tip, ring, sleeve)?
Is the laptop jack normal stereo or a combination headphone/microphone jack?

If both the jack & earphones are normal stereo, the earphones have a manufactured flaw (cross wired) or very bad sleeves/shielding.
