Not necessarily a movie, but I think some cartoons such as Courage the Cowardly Dog and Ed Edd n Eddy are such good shows 'cuz of their sound.

I remember being knocked out by the sound on cartoons when my kids were small. I'd check the credits and an awful lot of them seemed to have been credited to Mark Mothersbaugh -- one of the key figures behind Devo.

 

Back on topic, this masterpiece of a soundtrack. The movie itself wasn't worthy of this wonder. Besides the usual genius of Vangelis, in this one he writes gorgeous choir pieces.

Since it was mentioned here.... just saw Hans Zimmer tweet that Dune Part Two is moving forward (as he's doing the soundtrack on that, as well). Woohoo!!

 

For me, music makes or breaks the movie. My SO always makes fun of me and tells me that I never cry, except during movies.

There's nothing like a good soundtrack that elevates the scene to a new height.
