I had this start up a few days ago too, in Firefox on MacOS Big Sur. Turns out I had to manually update AdGuard then re-enable the “AdGuard Annoyances Filter” which fixed it for me. I don’t remember disabling the option in the first place, so seems a bit shady.

Getting hit just clicking the sign in link. After signing in pop-ups stop. What an annoyance. Makes me want to wait until releases are posted elsewhere.

Is annoying. even touching the scroll bar triggers pop-ups. very malicious behavior.

You'll just be running with the default lists enabled, which is a somewhat minimal set-up and will let a pile of junk through. I've got the following lists ticked on the config page:

    uBlock filters
    uBlock filters - Badware risks
    uBlock filters - Privacy
    uBlock filters - Resource abuse
    uBlock filters - Unbreak
    EasyList
    EasyPrivacy
    Online Malicious URL blocklist
    Adguard Annoyances
    uBlock filters - Annoyances
Peter Lowe's Ad and tracking server list.

(I've just got two domains that I blocked myself - tickmatureparties.com and www.get-express-vpn.online. They're the only two dodgy domains that ever made it through the standard block lists.)

If you aren't using the filter lists, you aren't going to be getting the most from uBlock. Ads, pop-ups, malware etc. are all a thing of the dim and distant past for me.

Oh, you get to the filter lists by clicking on the uBlock icon, and in the bottom right of the screen, just above the word 'less' is an icon that's a picture of some cogs. That takes you to the configure page. Filter lists is the second option at the top of the page (though it's the default opening page for me.)

You also need to be sure that uBlock Origin is updating the block lists that you're subscribed to regularly. Badware sites change regularly. Updated lists stop those changes from affecting you.

that did not help here (Chrome)

is that the checkbox "Auto-update filter lists" in Filter Lists in uBlock Dashboard? It's on by default, as well as Peter Lowe’s Ad and tracking server list.

For those of you getting popups, it can be because your ISP might be injecting adware scripts. My previous ISP did it, I just blocked their IPs and it was solved.

    Try this:

Go to the site, click on the little UD (Ublock Origin icon) in the top toolbar to open the menu, hover over the far left icon under the big on/off toggle and it should say, "Click to block all popups on this site". Click that, and then you'll see two new icons above. Click on the lock icon to make that permanent for the site.

    See if that works....

logged in or not, I get the popups on safari (i get them logging in, using search, and clicking on postings. usually they go away after the second or third click on the site). been going on for weeks. virus checks reveal nothing. I use adguard with annoyances checked (also web annoyances ultralist). nothing helps for me, at least on safari. (there have been different tracking cookies, the most recent one today for me is
hfgdidxi.xyz which then spins off to other trackers until I can close the window)

  17. funny we all have the same problems but we can't solve them in any way it must be due to google maybe a little virus is going on

So far that seems to do the trick, thank you!

EDIT: I spoke too soon, it's trying to redirect me now

Using Brave, the popups stop when blocking JavaScript. Unfortunately, I cannot login with JS turned off. For me these popups are just a minor inconvenience and I'm rethinking using extensions, because when push comes to shove, you can't trust anyone with your data privacy. For now it's Brave set to block aggressively (except JS) and without extensions.

So after more digging, Malwarebytes has been blocking something called propeller-tracking.com when going to the sister site. It's classified as malvertising. More info here on how the greedy A-Holes (no A-Hole in particular) have been trying to subvert our privacy in the name of business:
