It's a marketing strategy to get more people to buy.

Yeah, whether we like it not hype sells.

That way the initial buyers are actually purchasing something they've made up in their mind instead of the actual product.

So are you all positive Keyscape isn't the absolute shiznit?

Is their black Grand not better than Noire, or Piano in Blue?

I always felt curious/wanted to try it.. but darn those flipping 80Gb!
hard to justify even as a *gift

Just as big as this one: "IK Multimedia - Syntronik deluxe"

22 powerful Synths recreating the sound of 44 legendary hardware synthesizers and string machines, 80GB of content, 2,600 instrument presets, over 120,000 high-quality samples. Syntronik Deluxe is far more than just a plain virtual instrument.

People still using Spetrasonics? Well, some of them just like to be old and traditional.

Ah !! So they've invented a revolutionary plugin that works on your hard drive and every site in the world with looped drums and drum plugins and deletes them so when you click it, a popup saying
    "Get a real drummer" appears.
That in fairness would be new, different and innovative to break through every firewall and router on the planet to do that bypassing every form of security known to humankind.

In seriousness though, part of my humour was serious, if anyone truly wants the drums to be completely real, it's like any instrument, hire the real thing. Many plugins more than suffice for most productions but for a small band/ensemble, you cannot beat real musicians.

Humans have a beautiful tendency to be imperfect. Plugins and machines in DAW's are the opposite. You have to work really hard to get any humanness out of it no matter how great any expressiveness, how well it is played or how great the samples are. For an ensemble, film, Pop tune EDM,TRAP,Hop etc etc it does not matter so much, but for that great raw sound, dynamically (interplay and music dynamics)it is much more difficult.

I dunno, I just hope the direction that Spectrasonics is going (hot sampled garbage like it's teh 90s) at least isn't so obvious now they finally hired a programmer. Maybe they'll reverse course, even, do some proper work for once? My guess is that it'll be a monophonic polysynth called Haemaroid and will be "Vocaloid done right". It'll have sampled Bjork having a tantrum and will also have Greta Thunberg omni-sampled and omni-muttering, so they don't get sued. After it's revealed that the spectacular, integrated, world-saving, ecological, dolphin reverb is called the Tuneberg. It will autotune everything by default, and make soloists sound like choirs and vice-versa, whether you want it to or not.

It will only be responsible for enough froth on Gearslugs to create a brand new iceberg which hopefully Fat Eric crashes into using his enormous face; when he promos it from his adorable fuck yacht. That is nearly big enough to float, with Lord Persing on board. He will go down, (Titanic-style) screaming: "has anyone heard that I USED TO WORK FOR ROOOOOLAAAAAAAAND!!!" etcs.
The Spectrayacht is called the Rainbow Row: Land-ahoy!, in case Aquaman wants to sink it using sea creatures?

East West: "oops there goes our Innovative idea.."

Bjork Tantrum VSTi + Greta Thunberg ConvoWhale Reverb is an absolute Gold mine..

Personally, I don't really pull up keyscape for any of the C7 patches. I prefer the tone of NI's Noire for most of what I produce. Previously I would pull up keyscape for their Wurlitzer or Rhodes patches, but I've found myself gravitating towards the V Collection alternatives more. None of this is to say Keyscape doesn't sound good, it definitely does, it has great key basses and other keyboards, but *I* don't find them as realistic as I would like(in terms of their noise samples, they're sampled really well, but they are very repetitive)

It's a shame they lost interest in developing Stylus RMX further, as that seemed to be pushing boundaries at one point in terms of loop manipulation.

I would actually be impressed if they simply made a preset organization tool.

I didn't mean it critically; KeyScape is really nice. It's just that Spectra hyped it as something revolutionary for weeks leading up to the release, they had a big release party where they flew in a bunch of notable producers and artists, etc... and I remember how many people expressed disappointment that it wasn't more... I don't know... revolutionary?

KeyScape is a very nice keyboards collection, but at its heart, that's what it is, and there are lots of similar products. People were hoping for a new-gen Stylus or some other new kind of product.
