    Hey there Musicmakers,

    Are there any of you that use Native Instruments Machine as a plugin to a DAW? I mean as an instrument that is part of the other instruments used in songs you create.
    What is the reason and what makes it different from say Native Instruments Battery other than being a sequencer?
    Since it is a multi-track sequencer how does it output into the DAW where it is running on a specific track?

    Hope my question is clear.
    Would love to read some real-world experience.
    Thanx in advance for your input
    Eddy

    PS> I use a regular 61 keys midi controller as my input device.

    Yeah it is possible, but it defeats any workflow improvements once you sequecne Maschine with the DAWs pianoroll.
    Triggering patterns might be more useful

    I do use Maschine as part of my regular Ableton work, and I find it easiest to think of it as a HW groovebox that's synced to Live.

    Maschine for me is still the fastest to create drumkits and patterns. Sure Battery is a better drum source but you can easily marry the two here. Regardless, you can easily drag and drop the patterns or renders from Maschine direct to live if you so feel like it.

    @phumb-reh wrapped it up nicely

    I find it very useful (again in Ableton) when you want to quickly make a sketch of an idea in your head. You can find a groove (pattern) + sounds similar to what you're after for the base and build on top of that in your DAW. I also like that you can drag-render any audio that comes from the maschine, maybe on a separate tracks. Battery is just a sound source, not really comparable..
    Routing depends on your DAW. You have to set it up. It's similar to multiple ins/outs config for a Kontakt VSTi (but not the same)

    Thanx for your input guys (and possible gender-neutral people)!
    I will give it a go and see if it works for me.
