is the Universal Audio Volt Interface worth it ?

 

they seems pretty exciting specially those 76 models. i always expected something like those from uad, after all we still can't compare let's see that when they are out for buying.

but i like to know how those budget interfaces stand against focusrite/motu/audient and minifuse interfaces.

 

those manufacturers lines can all refer to some very budget interfaces too. any particular ones?

there is a little ssl interface like these now also.

 

i'm a little bit interested in arturia minifuse i think they have the best software package incl. splice and autotune free for 3 months.

they sound good and looks pretty nice too and you also have an extra usb port on interface to connect midi keyboard etc.

 

I don't see any real advantages. USB 2.0 and expensive.

 

The comparison between the vocals with and without the Vintage button applied were not gain weighted...uggghhh. Also, the compressor sounded a bit wonky and mistimed I'm sure because of the inability to control the release. If I would buy one it would be without the 76 option though the wood looks handsome. I'm not electrified by Volt, though I'm sure the less expensive models would satisfy with the quality of their converters. The headphone gain is a bonus.

 

Wait for julian Krause to review it. Or better really test the technical specs of the Volt. He will answer your question soon, I guess. ;)
